Seat Allotment and Reservation Policies

Seat allotment is based on several factors, including the candidate’s General Merit Rank (GMR), adherence to eligibility criteria, applicable reservation rules, the availability of seats, and the order of choices submitted by the candidate. Reservation policies for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories are implemented in accordance with the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal.

OBC candidates are required to furnish an updated Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate during the counselling and admission process. For PwD candidates, reservation applies to individuals with not less than forty per cent (40%) of a specified disability. Post-Allotment Procedures for Candidates

Conversely, ‘Yes’ upgradation candidates will automatically be eligible for the next round with their existing choices and will not be able to fill fresh choices in the immediate subsequent round. Candidates who did not secure any seats in Round 1 are automatically eligible for the next round with their existing choices and may opt for fresh choice filling. Freshly registered candidates in Round 2 and those whose seats were cancelled in Round 1 during document verification are also eligible for fresh choice filling in Round 2.
