JSS University BDS 2026 physical reporting guidelines issued for 100 seats

JSS University has released the physical reporting guidelines for candidates admitted to its Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program for the 2026 academic year. This process follows the conclusion of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) counselling rounds.

The BDS program, offered by JSS Dental College and Hospital, a constituent unit of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSSAHER), has an annual intake of 100 students. The admission process for these seats is conducted exclusively through MCC counselling for All India Quota seats and KEA counselling for state quota seats, with no direct admissions permitted.

BDS Admission Process and Eligibility

The admission cycle for BDS at JSS Dental College and Hospital typically commences in June-July annually, following the NEET UG examination. Candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission and have completed their 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, along with English. The total program fee for the four-year BDS course, followed by a mandatory one-year internship, ranges approximately between INR 15-20 lakh for the complete duration.

The online application form for 2026 admissions to JSS AHER carried a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000. The NEET UG 2026 registration window was open from 8 February to 11 March 2026, with admissions based on the NEET UG 2026 qualifying percentile.

Reporting Procedures and Institutional Context

Following seat allotment through the MCC counselling process, which includes three main rounds (first, second, and mop-up) conducted online, candidates are required to visit the college campus in Mysore within the stipulated timeframe to complete physical document verification. This step is crucial for finalising admission to the BDS program. For MCC registration, candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of INR 5,000, along with a refundable security deposit of INR 2,00,000.

JSS Dental College and Hospital, established in 1986-87, is recognised by the Dental Council of India and the Government of India. Per NIRF Rankings 2023, the college secured the 11th position in the Dental category. The campus, spread across 5 acres within the larger 38-acre JSS Medical Institutions complex, houses 362 dental units and has a built-up area of 1.80 lakh square feet dedicated to dental education and clinical training. The college currently enrolls approximately 488 students across its BDS and MDS programs, supported by a faculty of 58 members.

Placement Data and Other Programs

As per NIRF 2023 data, 38 undergraduate students from JSS Dental College and Hospital secured placements with a median package of INR 3.5 LPA. JSS AHER also offers 34 MDS seats, with NEET MDS 2026 having been held on 2 May 2026, and results declared on 2 June 2026. The institution also conducts admissions for various other programs, including MBBS (250 seats), B.Pharm (100 seats), and postgraduate courses like MD/MS and MDS, which are also managed through MCC counselling.

The JSS AHER entrance examination for MBA and MCA programs was rescheduled to 14 June 2026. PhD admissions at JSSAHER generally open twice annually, with application windows typically in January-February and July-August.
