KSEAB Class 9: Download answer keys after exams from Sep 23-30, 2026

The Karnataka School Education Department, through the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), has commenced the First Summative Assessment (SA1) for Class 9 students today, September 23, 2026. These mid-term examinations, conducted in offline mode, are scheduled long story short on September 30, 2026, across state syllabus schools in Karnataka.

The assessments are designed to evaluate student preparation, help them understand exam patterns, and identify key topics for revision. The exams cover a range of subjects including First Language, Mathematics, Second Language, Science, Social Science, and Third Language, encompassing about 50% of the Class 10 syllabus taught between June and August 2026.

Exam Structure and Schedule

The Class 9 SA1 examinations are a significant assessment during the academic year. While the overall exam period is from September 23 to 30, 2026, specific dates can vary across different districts, with some potentially extending until October 3. First Language and core subject papers are set for a duration of 3 hours, while Second and Third Language papers are 2 hours 45 minutes long. Students are allotted an additional 15 minutes of reading time before they begin writing their papers.

For applicable core and language subjects, the written paper carries 80 marks, with the remaining 20 marks allocated through Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA). Question papers are provided in both Kannada and English mediums.

Availability of Question Papers and Answer Keys

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) will update the question papers and provide answer keys and solutions for the 2026-27 exams after the conclusion of each respective subject examination. For instance, the Karnataka SSLC Science Mid Term Question Paper 2026-27 is expected after the Science examination on September 24, 2026. Similarly, the Mathematics paper will be added after its examination on September 28, 2026, and the Social Science paper after its exam on September 26, 2026.

Until the current year’s papers are released, students have the option to download previous year’s (2025-26) SA1 papers for practice. Answer keys are available for most of these past papers, which can assist students in their preparation.

Preparation Guidelines for Students

Students are advised to download the necessary PDFs, including previous year’s papers, and use them regularly for practice. A recommended approach involves attempting the question papers independently without immediately checking the answers, and then comparing their responses with the provided key answers. This method can help in self-assessment and identifying areas that require further attention.

Consistent preparation and proper revision of textbook lessons and class notes are emphasized to improve confidence and performance in the Class 9 SA1 examination. Practicing subject-wise question papers within the expected examination timeframes can also be beneficial.
