NEET SS counselling 2025 special stray round: registration from September 25

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the schedule for the NEET SS Counselling 2025 Special Stray Vacancy Round. This round aims to fill remaining vacant Super Speciality (SS) seats in DNB and MCh/DM courses across India. Registration for eligible candidates will begin on September 25, 2026, on the official MCC portal, mcc.nic.in.

The special stray vacancy round provides a final opportunity for candidates to secure admission to super speciality courses. The counselling process, conducted entirely online by the MCC, requires fresh registration and choice filling from participating candidates. Previous rounds for NEET SS Counselling 2025 included Round 1, which concluded on March 18, 2026, and Round 2, with results announced on April 7, 2026.

Special Stray Vacancy Round Schedule and Fees

The registration window for the special stray vacancy round will be open from September 25, 2026, until September 28, 2026. Following registration, candidates will have until September 29, 2026, to fill their choices. The MCC is scheduled to announce the seat allotment results for this round on September 30, 2026. Successful candidates must complete their reporting formalities at their allotted colleges between October 1 and October 6, 2026.

Candidates participating in the counselling must pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₹5,000. In addition, a refundable security deposit of ₹2,00,000 is required. Choice locking is mandatory after filling choices to confirm preferences.

Eligibility and Required Documents

Only candidates who are not currently holding any seat through previous MCC or State counselling rounds are eligible to participate in the special stray vacancy round. Fresh registration and choice filling are mandatory for all participants in this round. once a seat is allotted in the stray round, no further rounds or upgrades will be available. Failure to report to the allotted college within the specified period will result in the forfeiture of the seat.

The documents required for counselling include the NEET SS 2025 Admit Card, Scorecard/Rank Letter, Postgraduate Degree Certificate, Internship Completion Certificate, a Valid Photo ID, Date of Birth Certificate, Permanent Registration Certificate, and the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter. Document verification is mandatory at the allotted institute.

NEET Ss 2025 Qualifying Cutoff Scores

The NEET SS is an entrance test for DNB and MCh/DM super speciality courses. The MCC conducts the counselling process based on the scores obtained in this examination. The qualifying cutoff scores for NEET SS 2025 varied across different question paper groups, with scores out of a maximum of 600.

For instance, the cutoff for the Respiratory Medicine Group was 365, while the ENT Group had a cutoff of 350. The Orthopaedics Group had a cutoff of 254, and the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Group recorded a cutoff of 354. These cutoffs determine eligibility for various super speciality courses.
