KSEAB: Download Class 9/SSLC mid-term answer keys after exams, Sep 23-30

The Karnataka School Education Department and the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) have commenced the First Summative Assessment (SA1), also known as mid-term exams, for Class 9 and SSLC (Class 10) students across Karnataka. The examinations for the 2026-27 academic year are being held offline from September 23 to 30, 2026, with the aim of assessing student preparation for upcoming board examinations.

These assessments are designed to cover approximately 50% of the Class 10 syllabus, specifically the content taught from June to August 2026. Question papers and answer keys for the current year’s exams will be released by KSEAB after the completion of each respective subject examination, providing resources for students to review their performance and prepare for subsequent assessments.

Examination Schedule and Structure

The mid-term examinations for both Class 9 and SSLC are being conducted concurrently from September 23 to 30, 2026. While the SSLC schedule is uniform, Class 9 SA1 examination dates may vary in different districts, with some sources indicating a schedule from September 26 to October 3. Class 9 exams are held from 10 am to 1:15 pm.

For SSLC students, First Language and core subject papers have a duration of 3 hours, while Second and Third Language papers are conducted for 2 hours 45 minutes. Students are allotted an additional 15 minutes of reading time before they begin writing the paper. For applicable core and language subjects, the written paper carries 80 marks, with the remaining 20 marks allocated through Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA).

Subjects and Availability of Resources

The Class 9 mid-term exams include subjects such as First Language, Mathematics, Second Language, Science, Social Science, and Third Language. SSLC subjects comprise First Language, Science, Third Language, Social Science, Mathematics, Second Language, and Other/Vocational Subjects. Question papers and answer keys for Class 9 will be available in both Kannada and English mediums.

As of September 22, 2026, the 2026-27 mid-term question papers for SSLC were not yet available. The SSLC Science Mid Term Question Paper 2026-27 is expected after the Science examination on September 24, 2026. Similarly, the SSLC Social Science Mid Term Question Paper 2026-27 is anticipated after the Social Science paper on September 26, 2026, and the SSLC Maths Mid Term Question Paper 2026-27 will be added after the Mathematics examination on September 28, 2026. Answer keys for both Class 9 and SSLC will be provided after the respective subject examinations and once verified answer resources become available.

Preparation and Revision Tools

To aid students in their preparation, previous year’s SA1 papers for 2025-26 are available for practice for both Class 9 and SSLC. These resources allow students to familiarise themselves with the exam pattern and question types. The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has previously released SA1 Mid Term Question Papers for all subjects for 1st to 10th Standard for the year 2025.

Students can download Class 9 SA1 question papers, key answers, and blueprints for 2026. These materials are intended to serve as a checkpoint for students to assess their understanding of the syllabus and identify areas requiring further revision before the final board examinations.
