These initiatives aim to enhance the municipal education system by increasing student enrolment, strengthening sanitation and security, and introducing modern facilities and value-driven education. Each MCD school has been directed to achieve at least 30 new admissions this month, contributing to the overall target.

Expediting MTS Recruitment and School Infrastructure

The MCD Education Committee has mandated a 15-day deadline for the submission of the recruitment file for around 2,800 MTS employees. These new recruits are intended to bolster sanitation and security arrangements across municipal schools. In addition, the committee has directed that the release process for minor repair funds for school buildings must be completed within 15 days.

In a move to modernise school facilities, a one-month deadline has been set for installing five smartboards in each school. Necessary toilet facilities and new water coolers are also to be provided in relevant newly constructed schools within the same one-month timeframe. The committee also called for the installation of Aerobins or other suitable organic waste processing systems in schools to promote sustainable practices.

Online Teacher Transfers and Value-Driven Education

The committee has directed rolling out an online teacher transfer policy, with officials asked to expedite its rollout and submit a detailed report on transfers carried out to date. This policy aims to address anomalies in the previous system and smooth out the transfer process.

To integrate moral values and civic responsibilities into the curriculum, Yogesh Verma will constitute a panel of academicians. This panel is tasked with recommending ways to incorporate moral values, civic responsibilities, environmental protection, and discipline into school education, with a report due within one month. If you look at Yogesh Verma, “this is non-negotiable to build parents’ trust through better facilities and quality education in municipal schools.” He added, “Our goal is to bring radical change to MCD schools. We want them to establish a new identity regarding quality education, modern facilities, sanitation, security and a value-driven environment.”
