Document Verification and Reservation Policies
For final admission and institute verification, candidates are required to present several documents. These include the JECA 2026 rank card, seat allotment letter, Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, graduation marksheets, and a valid photo ID proof. Candidates claiming reservation benefits must have their category or reservation certificates ready and should carry original documents along with photocopies during the institute verification process.
Reservation policies for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD categories strictly adhere to the extant rules of the Government of West Bengal. OBC candidates are required to produce an updated Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate during the counselling and admission process. For PwD candidates, a minimum of forty percent (40%) specified disability is necessary for reservation eligibility, with certificates issued by authorities as per Order No. 289-HF /O/PHP/IR-05/2017 dated August 29, 2018, by the Government of West Bengal, Health & Family Welfare Department (PHP Branch).
JECA-2026 Examination Structure and Application Details
The JECA-2026 examination, an OMR-based Common Entrance Test, was conducted by WBJEEB on June 14, 2026. The application period for JECA-2026 was from April 9 to April 28, 2026. The application fee for General candidates was Rs. 500/-, while for Third Gender/SC/ST/OBC-Category-A/OBC-Category-B/EWS candidates, it was Rs. 400/-.
The exam comprised one paper with a total of 100 questions, carrying a maximum of 120 marks, to be completed within 2 hours. Category-I questions carried 1 mark with -1/4 negative marking, and there were 80 such questions. Category-II questions carried 2 marks with no negative marks, and there were 20 such questions.
