NTA Extends NEET 2026 Fee Refund Link Until July 14-

Missed the Deadline? NTA Extends NEET 2026 Fee Refund Link Until July 14—Step-by-Step Guide Inside

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a major relief for medical aspirants. The deadline to update or verify bank account details for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 fee refund has been further extended. Candidates who appeared for the cancelled examination on May 3, 2026, now have until July 14, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM) to complete their banking verification.

The NTA decided to extend this window because a significant number of candidates have yet to confirm their bank information. Out of nearly 20 lakh eligible students, only about 10.28 lakh have completed the process so far. To avoid any technical failures and ensure every student gets their money back, the portal has been reopened for one final stretch.

NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Overview

The fee refund applies strictly to the candidates who registered and paid for the initial exam held on May 3, which was subsequently cancelled due to paper leak concerns. The NTA later conducted a re-examination on June 21, for which no extra fees were charged.

The full application fee will be credited directly to the verified bank account provided by the student, with zero hidden deductions.

Category Refund Amount (INR)
General ₹1,700
General-EWS / OBC-NCL ₹1,600
SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender ₹1,000
Outside India (NRI) ₹9,500

Complete Verification Process: Step-by-Step Guide

The NTA has made the process entirely digital. To protect your financial data, the portal uses a strict secure login system. Follow these clear steps to complete your verification without errors:

1. Visit the Official Portal:

Open your web browser and go directly to the official NEET website at neet.nta.nic.in. Avoid clicking on unverified links from third-party social media pages.

2. Log In with Credentials:

On the homepage, locate and click on the designated link for the NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund. Enter your unique Application Number and Password (or Date of Birth) to access your candidate dashboard.

3. Secure Two-Factor Authentication:

To ensure data security, you must pass a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) check. A dynamic One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter this code to unlock the banking section.

4. Review Existing Bank Details:

Once inside, navigate to the “Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation” tab. The screen will automatically display the bank information recorded during your initial registration. Check these closely.

5. Modify or Confirm Information:

  • If the details are correct: Tick the confirmation checkbox stating that the Account Number and IFSC Code are accurate, then click “Confirm Bank Details.”

  • If details need changes: Click the correction link to modify the Beneficiary Name, Bank Account Number, Bank Name, or IFSC Code.

  • Note: If you do not wish to claim the money, you can choose the “No Refund” option.

6. Upload Supporting Document:

If you edited any details, the NTA recommends uploading a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque or the first page of your bank passbook. This ensures your account number and IFSC are legibly cross-checked by the system.

7. Final Submission:

Review everything one final time. Once you click submit, the data is frozen. Download and save the Confirmation Page or take a clean screenshot for your records.

Important Rules to Keep in Mind

Account Ownership: The bank account must be active and should be in the name of the candidate or their parents/immediate family members. Do not use an inactive account or a commercial cyber cafe account, as transactions to these will fail.

Stay Alert to Frauds: The NTA will never send individual SMS messages or WhatsApp texts asking for your bank PIN, password, or transaction OTPs. All official updates take place solely inside the secure student login portal.

Expected Refund Timeline

The NTA has already started rolling out the refund amounts to the first batch of 10.28 lakh students who successfully completed their verification earlier.

For candidates verifying their details during this extended window, the NTA aims to process the payments within 7 business days of submission.

The majority of applicants can expect the funds to clear into their respective accounts by the end of July 2026, closely aligning with the upcoming Re-NEET result announcement expected on or before July 20.

If you experience technical issues while uploading documents or logging in, reach out immediately to the official NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000 or drop an email to neetug2026@nta.nic.in
