RBI Grade B 2027 calendar released: notifications for general, DEPR, DSIM in February

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published its Annual Recruitment Calendar for Panel Year 2027 on its official website, www.rbi.org.in. This calendar outlines the anticipated schedule for the recruitment of eligible candidates for various positions, including Grade B Manager in DEPR/DSIM/General cadres, along with Grade A and Specialist Officer posts.

The RBI Grade B exam is conducted annually and is considered a national-level examination, often regarded as one of the most competitive in the banking and insurance sectors in India. The complete recruitment cycle typically spans 6.5 to 8 months, extending to approximately 11 months with the joining process.

RBI Grade B (Dr) General and Specialist Officer Posts

The notification for RBI Grade B (DR) General is expected in February 2027, with Phase I examinations planned for April 2027 and Phase II in May/June 2027. The selection process for Grade B (DR) consists of Prelims, Mains, and an Interview. Also, notifications for several specialist officer roles are also anticipated in February 2027.

These specialist positions include Manager (Technical – Civil), Manager (Technical – Electrical), Legal Officer in Grade ‘B’, Assistant Manager (Protocol & Security), and Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha). Single-phase examinations for these specialist posts are scheduled for March/April 2027.

RBI Grade B DEPR and DSIM 2027 Schedule

The notification for RBI Grade B DEPR 2027 is expected in March or April 2027. The online application window for RBI Grade B DEPR is likely to remain open for approximately 20-25 days from the date of notification. Phase 1 for RBI Grade B DEPR is anticipated in May-June 2027, followed by Phase 2 in June-July 2027.

The application fee for General/OBC/EWSs candidates for RBI Grade B DEPR is ₹850 + 18% GST. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the fee is ₹100 + 18% GST. No application fee is applicable for staff candidates. In the 2026 recruitment cycle, RBI announced 10 vacancies for Grade ‘B’ (DR) DEPR.

Comparison with Previous Recruitment Cycles

The RBI Grade B 2025 Official Notification PDF was released on 10 September 2025 for 120 vacancies. The online application period for 2025 was from 10 September 2025 to 30 September 2025. Phase I for General Cadre in 2025 was held on 18 October 2025, and for DEPR/DSIM on 19 October 2025. Phase II for General Cadre was on 6 December 2025, and for DEPR/DSIM on 7 December 2025. The final result for the 2025 cycle was declared on 24 March 2026, with joining on 8 June 2026.

For the RBI Grade B 2026 recruitment cycle, a short notification was released on 28 April 2026, with 60 vacancies announced. The application period was from 29 April 2026 to 20 May 2026. Phase 1 (Prelims) for General posts was on 13 June 2026, and for DEPR/DSIM posts on 14 June 2026. Phase 2 (Mains) for General posts was on 25 July 2026, and for DEPR/DSIM posts on 26 July 2026. Phase 2 results were released on 22 August 2026, and interviews commenced on 22 September 2026, concluding on 9 October 2026.
