SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2026 Exam Pattern and Structure

The Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 is an OMR-based examination consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The exam is designed to assess candidates’ aptitude for the elementary education program. SCERT Assam has announced the seat intake and reservation policy for admission to the 2-year D.El.Ed. programme through PET 2026.

Total Seats A total of 4,150 seats are available for admission to the 2-year D.El.Ed. course (2026–28) across 64 NCTE-recognised Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) in Assam.
Participating Institutes Seats are offered in DIETs, CTEs, Normal Schools, BITEs, BTCs, and Private Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) recognised by NCTE.
District-wise Allotment Candidates are allotted seats in the TEIs of the district selected while submitting the PET application, subject to merit rank and seat availability.
Science Stream Reservation 30% of the total seats in each district are reserved for candidates from the Science stream.
Arts & Other Streams The remaining 70% of seats are allotted to candidates from the Arts and other streams.
Category-wise Reservation Reservation for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), EWS, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is provided as per the Government of Assam Reservation Policy.
