Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, commonly known as Vel Tech University, has commenced the admission process for its undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs for the 2027 academic session. The admissions are open for B.Tech, M.Tech, and Arts & Science courses, aiming to provide technical education with international standards and nurture students’ skill sets.

The university, ranked among the Top 100 Leading Institutions in India, has outlined specific eligibility criteria and application procedures for prospective students. B.Tech Admissions and Eligibility Criteria

Admissions for the B.Tech programs for the 2027 academic session are now open. The primary eligibility criterion for B.Tech admissions is a pass in the +2 (or its equivalent) examination. Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (MPC) in their 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination.

Students who are appearing for their 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in March/April/May 2025 are also eligible to appear for VTUEEE 2027. Also, candidates holding a Diploma in Engineering / Technology or a B.Sc. degree (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics at the H.Sc. Level are eligible for lateral entry directly into the third semester of the B.Tech program.

Application Process and Fees

The application fee for the VTUEEE is Rs. 950/-. This fee can be paid through various online methods, including Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or Paytm wallet for online applications. For those opting for offline applications, a Demand Draft for Rs. 950/-, payable at Chennai to The Head Admission, can be sent.

Offline application forms can also be purchased directly from Vel Tech Regional Offices by making a cash payment of Rs. 950/-. When applying online, candidates are required to upload a colored passport size photograph and their signature, with an uploading size limit of 100 KB for each document. Registered candidates will receive an email notification with their application number, password, and a link to complete the application form.

M.Tech Programs and Specific Eligibility

Vel Tech University has also opened admissions for its M.Tech programs, with distinct eligibility criteria for each specialization. These requirements ensure that candidates possess the necessary foundational knowledge for their chosen advanced studies.

For M.Tech. Biotechnology, a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Genetic Engineering/tech, Industrial Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering/tech, Agricultural Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical technology, or an M.Sc in Life Sciences, B.Pharma/ Master’s degree in Science or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with biology or related subjects at 10+2 level or later is required. M.Tech. Mechanical Engineering (Metallurgical And Material Science) requires a B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engg., Automobile Engg., Manufacturing Engg./Tech., Production Engg./Tech., Aerospace Tech., Industrial Engg, Marine Engg., Mechatronics, or Aeronautical Engg. M.Tech. Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Safety & Engineering) is open to B.E. / B.Tech. graduates from all branches.
