VITEEE 2026 Exam Dates Announced: Admissions Mandatory for B.Tech, Placement Data Highlights Rs 1 Crore CTC

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has announced that the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2026 will be conducted tentatively between April 28 and May 3, 2026. This examination is mandatory for admission to all B.Tech programmes across VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT-AP, and VIT Bhopal campuses, with mock tests enabled in March 2026.

The institution also highlighted its consistent record of excellent placements, with the highest Cost to Company (CTC) recorded at Rs 1 Crore per annum. Over 850 companies visit VIT campuses annually for recruitment, resulting in more than 14,000 job offers across all four campuses and programme levels each placement cycle.

VITEEE 2026: Important Dates and Exam Details

The VITEEE 2026 examination is scheduled to take place from April 28 to May 3, 2026, as per the official announcement from VIT Vellore. Candidates will have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the exam. To assist aspirants in their preparation, a mock test facility will be made available in March 2026.

Admission to the B.Tech programme at VIT is exclusively through VITEEE scores. Higher Secondary Board, JEE Main, or SAT scores will not be considered for B.Tech degree programme admissions, as confirmed by VIT Vellore. Candidates achieving VITEEE 2026 ranks between 7,500 and 27,500 are considered to have good admission opportunities across various B.Tech programmes at VIT Vellore.

VIT B.Tech Admissions 2026: Eligibility and Seat Matrix

For admission to VIT Vellore and Chennai campuses, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, securing at least 60% marks. The age limit for applicants to these campuses is 22 years. VITEEE does not have specific reserved seats for categories such as SC, ST, or OBC; however, provisions exist for management quota and special consideration for differently-abled candidates.

The VIT Vellore campus offers a detailed seat matrix for its B.Tech and PG programmes. The B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering programme, for instance, has an intake of 1200 seats, while Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering each offer 720 seats. The Career Development Centre (CDC) centrally coordinates placement and internship operations across all four VIT campuses, headed by Dr. V. Samuel Rajkumar.

VIT Placement Records and International Collaborations

VIT has consistently maintained excellent placement records, with the highest CTC reaching Rs 1 Crore per annum. The institution records over 14,000 job offers annually across its four campuses and various programme levels, with more than 850 companies participating in each recruitment cycle. The average placement package stands at Rs 6.05 lakhs annually, as per VIT’s published placement insights.

Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, was present to witness the collaboration. Dr. G. V.
