WB NEET UG Counselling 2026 schedule revised: Round 2 reporting extended to 19 September

This updated schedule primarily affects the dates for Round 2 reporting and outlines the complete timelines for Round 3 and the subsequent Stray Vacancy Round for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses.

The revision aims to provide clarity for NEET UG aspirants seeking admission under State Quota, Private Management Quota, and NRI Quota seats in West Bengal, ensuring smoother admission procedures. The counselling process manages admission to 85% of State Quota seats in Government Medical and Dental Colleges, as well as State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota seats in Private Medical and Dental Colleges.

Revised Schedule for Round 2 Reporting

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC), operating under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of West Bengal, has issued a revised tentative schedule for WB NEET UG Counselling 2026. This update, released today, September 19, 2026, specifically extends the reporting and admission period for candidates allotted seats in Round 2. The revision aims to enhance clarity for NEET UG aspirants seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses in West Bengal.

Candidates who were allotted seats during Round 2 now have an additional day, September 19, 2026, to complete their reporting and admission formalities. This extension allows for reporting and admission from 10 am to 4 pm on this date. The WBMCC clarified that, apart from this specific extension for Round 2 reporting, the overall counselling schedule from Round 2 onwards remains consistent with the timeline previously published on August 6, 2026.

Key Dates for Round 3 Counselling

Round 3 of the WB NEET UG Counselling 2026 is set to begin with online registration for NEET UG 2026-qualified candidates from September 28, 2026, at 11 am, concluding on September 30, 2026, at 6 pm. Online fee payment for this round will also run concurrently, from September 28, 2026, at 11 am until September 30, 2026, at 12 midnight.

Verification of candidates for Round 3 will be conducted on September 29 and 30, 2026, from 11 am to 4 pm. Following this, the online seat surrender option at the allotted college level for Round 3 will be available from September 30 to October 1, 2026, between 10 am and 3 pm. The list of successfully verified candidates and the seat matrix for Round 3 will be published on October 1, 2026, after 5 pm. Online choice filling and choice locking for Round 3 will commence at 6 pm on October 1, 2026, and close at 10 am on October 4, 2026. The allotment result for Round 3 is scheduled for publication on October 8, 2026, after 4 pm, with reporting and admission for allotted candidates taking place from October 12 to 14, 2026, from 10 am till 4 pm.

Stray Vacancy Round Details and Security Deposits

The online registration for the Stray Vacancy Round will open on October 15, 2026, at 11 am and close on October 16, 2026, at 6 pm. Online fee payment for this round will be available from October 15, 2026, at 11 am until October 16, 2026, at 12 midnight. Candidate verification for the Stray Vacancy Round is scheduled for October 16 and 17, 2026, from 11 am to 4 pm.

The list of successfully verified candidates and the seat matrix for the Stray Vacancy Round will be published on October 17, 2026, after 5 pm. Online choice filling and choice locking will occur from 6 pm on October 17, 2026, until 10 am on October 18, 2026. The allotment result for the Stray Vacancy Round is expected by 12 noon on October 23, 2026. Reporting and admission for candidates allotted seats in this round will be from 2 pm to 6 pm on October 23, 2026, and from 10 am till 4 pm on October 24, 2026, and October 26, 2026.

A significant rule for Round 3 and subsequent rounds is that once a seat is allotted, candidates cannot surrender it. Also, candidates applying for private medical or dental colleges under Round 3 must pay a security deposit. This deposit is ₹2,00,000 for private college seats under the state quota and ₹5,00,000 for management quota seats. NRI candidates are exempt from the candidate verification requirement.
