Harvard University is set to launch its executive education courses in Hyderabad, Telangana, beginning December 2026. This development was announced by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy today, 19 September 2026, and is aimed at expanding executive education, research, and industry-academia collaboration within the state.

The introduction of these programmes is part of the Telangana government’s broader strategy to position Hyderabad as a global knowledge hub, fostering innovation, skills, and talent. This initiative follows Chief Minister Reddy’s participation in a leadership programme at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government earlier this year.

Expanding Global Education in Telangana

The launch of Harvard University’s executive education programmes in Hyderabad is a key component of the Telangana government’s efforts to attract international educational institutions. These initiatives are designed to enhance collaboration between industries and research bodies in the city.

Beyond Harvard, the Telangana government is also engaged in discussions with other prominent global institutions, including MIT, Purdue University, the University of London, Virginia Tech, and Northeastern University. These discussions align with the state’s vision to develop Hyderabad into a central hub for knowledge, skills, talent, and innovation, with plans for a proposed Bharat Future City that would include an Education Hub and a Young India Skills University.

Harvard Executive Education Admissions and Programs

Admission to Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education programmes is typically on a rolling, space-available basis for qualified candidates. Applicants generally receive an email notification regarding the Admission Committee’s decision within three weeks of submitting their application, with communications originating from exed@hks.harvard.edu.

For Harvard Business School (HBS) Executive Education programs, there are no formal educational requirements. Admission is determined by professional achievement, organizational responsibility, and specific program criteria. One such offering, the Senior Executive Leadership Program—India, involves four weeks of in-person learning in the region and requires 45–50 hours of pre-program work.

The Senior Executive Leadership Program—India, offered by Harvard Business School, features modules conducted in both Mumbai and Boston. Module 1 is scheduled from January 11–22, 2027, in Mumbai, India, followed by Module 2 from May 10–21, 2027, also in Mumbai. The final Module 3 will take place from August 23–September 3, 2027, at the HBS Campus in Boston.
