VITEEE Admit Card 2026 Live Update

VITEEE Admit Card 2026 Live Updates: OTBS Portal Active for Hall Ticket Download at vit.ac.in

The VITEEE 2026 admit card is now accessible via the OTBS portal at vit.ac.in, appearing exactly 48 hours before each student's scheduled exam. Candidates must carry a clear A4 printout and a government ID to the center, keeping in mind the new negative marking scheme for 2026.

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has officially opened the download window for the VITEEE Admit Card 2026. With the entrance exam set to kick off tomorrow, the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) is seeing heavy traffic as thousands of engineering aspirants rush to secure their entry documents.

The examination, which serves as the gateway to B.Tech programs across Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal campuses, will run from April 28 to May 3, 2026.

How to Download VITEEE 2026 Admit Card via OTBS

The download process is integrated with the slot booking system. If you haven’t booked your slot yet, the system may automatically assign one before generating the ticket.

  1. Official Portal: Head to vit.ac.in and look for the “VITEEE 2026 OTBS” link.

  2. Login Details: Use your Application Number and the password you set during the registration phase.

  3. Booking Status: Ensure your test city, date, and time slot are confirmed.

  4. Instant Download: Once confirmed, the “Download Admit Card” button will appear. Save it as a PDF immediately to avoid issues with website timeouts later.

  5. Print Quality: VIT recommends a laser print on white A4 paper. Ensure the barcode and your photograph are crisp and not blurred.

Important Exam Schedule & 48-Hour Rule

VIT operates on a rolling release model. This means the portal “unlocks” admit cards based on your specific exam date to prevent server crashes.

Exam Date Admit Card Status
April 28, 2026 Live Now (Released April 26)
April 29, 2026 Live Now (Released April 27)
April 30, 2026 Unlocks tomorrow, April 28
May 1–3, 2026 Check exactly 48 hours before your shift

This year, the exam features a revised marking scheme: +4 for a correct answer and -1 for an incorrect answer. With 125 questions to be solved in 2.5 hours, precision is more important than ever.

What to Check on Your Hall Ticket?

The hall ticket is more than just an entry pass; it contains critical data that must match your official records. Check these four areas

  • The Subjects: Verify if you are under MPCEA (Maths) or BPCEA (Biology). This determines which version of the paper you receive.

  • Reporting Time: Do not confuse the exam start time with the reporting time. You must be at the center at least 2 hours early for biometric registration.

  • Watermark & Barcode: A valid admit card will have a visible VIT watermark. Ensure the barcode is not folded or damaged.

  • ID Proof Match: The name on your admit card must exactly match the name on your Aadhaar, Voter ID, or PAN Card. Even a minor spelling difference can lead to delays at the gate.

Handling Technical Issues & Glitches

With the high volume of users, some candidates have reported a “Blank Photo” issue where the admit card downloads without their picture.

  • Browser Check: Try using the latest version of Chrome or Firefox on a desktop rather than a mobile device.

  • The Photo Fix: If the photo remains blank, don’t panic. Carry 2-3 identical passport-size photos to the center; the invigilators have a manual verification process for such cases.

  • Contact Info: For persistent login errors, call the UG Admissions office at 044-462-77555 or email ugadmission@vit.ac.in.

  • Prohibited Items: Remember, the center will not have lockers for bags or phones. Leave your smartwatches, calculators, and jewelry at home to ensure a smooth entry.
