Alva’s College, Moodbidri, located in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, provides a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program with specializations offered by its Department of Computer Science. Admission Eligibility and Application Procedure
To be eligible for admission to an undergraduate program at Alva’s College, prospective students must have completed a two-year pre-university course from Karnataka or any other Indian state, or an equivalent course recognized by Mangalore University. Foreign students are admitted only with proper long-term valid student visas, and their admission is confirmed after approval from Mangalore University.
Application forms can be acquired from admission officers upon payment of Rs. 150/-. This fee can be paid in cash or through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of “The Chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation ® , Moodbidri”. Applications received by post will be registered if accompanied by a DD of Rs. 150/- payable to the same entity. A certified copy of the marks list from the qualifying examination must be attached to the application form, which should be filled out in the candidate’s own handwriting and registered by the specified due date.
Fee Payment and Seat Forfeiture Policies
Upon selection after an interview, students are required to pay the fees immediately. The college states that fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. Students who do not appear for the interview on the designated day risk losing their provisionally allotted seat. In addition, selected students who fail to pay fees or do not attend classes for five consecutive days after paying fees will forfeit their seats. Original documents must be submitted to the college office at the time of fee payment.
Students who have completed their studies outside Karnataka are required to obtain an eligibility certificate from Mangalore University at the time of admission. The college’s official portal is alvascollege.org.

Alva’s College offers a total of 47 courses across 10 streams, with popular degrees including BSc, BA, B.Com, BVA, and BCA. The Department of Computer Science has also organized various workshops and guest talks. These include a workshop on ANDROID APP DEVELOPMENT from 16th to 17th July 2018, a Guest talk on CYBER SECURITY on 6th February 2019, and a PYTHON WORKSHOP from 17th to 19th September 2018. An IOT WORKSHOP, which saw the participation of 50 BCA students, was held from 18th to 28th November 2019.
