The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has commenced the process for submitting objections to the provisional list of examination centres for the 2027 High School and Intermediate examinations. Interested parties, including students, parents, and school authorities, can raise concerns online through the UPMSP’s official website, upmsp.edu.in, until October 28, 2026. This step is intended to ensure a fair and transparent allocation of examination centres.

The current objection window is part of a revised schedule for centre determination, which began on September 24, 2026. This process follows earlier delays, as the board had not received infrastructure verification reports from 647 schools for the 2027 exams as of August 13, 2026. The 2027 board exams are scheduled to run from February 5 to February 24, 2027, with morning and evening shifts.

Revised Schedule for Centre Determination

The UPMSP has implemented a revised timeline for the selection and finalisation of examination centres for the 2027 board exams. This updated schedule aims to address previous delays in infrastructure verification and report submissions from schools and district authorities. The centre selection process for the 2027 exams officially began on August 24, 2026, with a revised determination schedule spanning from September 24 to October 29, 2026.

Initially, principals were required to upload infrastructure details by July 20, 2026, followed by physical verification by tehsil-level committees by August 3, 2026. District Inspectors of Schools (DIOSs) were then to upload verification reports by August 10, 2026. However, as of August 13, 2026, 647 schools had not submitted their infrastructure verification reports, despite details for 28,535 out of 29,182 linked schools having been uploaded. The revised schedule has adjusted these deadlines to support the timely finalisation of centres.

Changes in Examination System and Evaluation

For the 2027 board examinations, the UPMSP has introduced several changes to the examination system and evaluation process. Practical exams for Science and Home Science for High School students will now be conducted by the council itself, carrying 30 marks each. This marks a shift in the conduct of these specific components of the High School curriculum.

Also, the evaluation of answer sheets for the 2027 board exams will be conducted online. This system was successfully piloted during the 2026 board exams in Varanasi, Prayagraj, Meerut, Bareilly, and Gorakhpur. Rolling out online evaluation across the board for 2027 is aimed at expediting the result declaration process. The High School and Intermediate exams for 2027 are scheduled from February 5 to February 24, 2027, with the timetable announced via an official notification on October 12, 2026. Morning shift exams will run from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM, and evening shift exams from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

Comparison with 2026 Exam Centre Allocation

The process for determining examination centres for the 2027 board exams follows a similar, though revised, structure to that of the 2026 exams. For the 2026 examinations, a total of 7,448 centres were announced, with objections open until December 4, 2025. The final list of exam centres for 2026 was later announced on December 30, 2025.

The 2026 centre list included 910 government schools, 3,484 aided schools, and 3,054 unaided schools. Prayagraj district, for instance, was allocated 258 centres for the 2026 exams. The current process for 2027, with its public objection window and a revised schedule for finalisation, indicates a continued emphasis on transparency and stakeholder involvement in the allocation of examination venues, building upon the experiences from the previous cycle.
