Bank of Baroda Opens Recruitment Drive for 206 Specialist Officers

Public sector lender Bank of Baroda has officially launched a recruitment drive to fill 206 Specialist Officer (SO) positions across several key departments. The bank opened the online application process on August 6 under advertisement notification number BOB/HRM/REC/ADVT/2026/15. Interested and qualified candidates can apply online through the bank’s official website until August 26.

This hiring drive aims to strengthen the bank’s operational and technical teams with experienced professionals in fields like digital banking, cybersecurity, engineering, data science, and corporate finance. All 206 openings are regular positions, and selected officers may be posted at any Bank of Baroda branch or office across India, depending on institutional needs.

BOB Recruitments: Department-Wise Breakdown of Vacancies

The recruitment covers 22 distinct job titles across six core departments. The roles range from entry-level specialist grades to senior managerial positions:

  • Facility Management (88 Posts): The largest number of openings is in this division, which includes roles for Civil Engineers and Electrical Engineers serving as Technical Officers, Technical Managers, and Senior Technical Managers.

  • Security (55 Posts): Positions reserved primarily for retired armed forces, police, or paramilitary officers to oversee bank security protocols.

  • Digital Banking (22 Posts): Focuses on product development, digital lending, and online payment channels, with vacancies for Managers and Senior Managers.

  • Corporate Accounts & Taxation Planning (20 Posts): Openings for chartered accountants and finance specialists to manage tax compliance, accounting, and investor relations.

  • Enterprise Data Management Office (19 Posts): Positions targeting data scientists, business intelligence analysts, and data quality specialists.

  • Information Security (18 Posts): Specialized roles focused on safeguarding the bank’s digital networks and customer data against cyber threats.

Eligibility Criteria and Experience Requirements

Because these are Specialist Officer roles, applicants must hold specific professional qualifications and prior work experience. Fresh graduates without practical experience are not eligible for these positions.

Educational requirements vary depending on the post. Candidates applying for engineering or technical roles generally require a B.E. or B.Tech degree. Roles in taxation require a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant certification. Data science and cybersecurity positions require specialized degrees in computer science, IT, or cybersecurity along with professional certifications like CISA, CISM, or CISSP.

The minimum age requirement across posts starts at 23 years, while the maximum age goes up to 43 years for senior managerial roles as of August 1. Age relaxations apply as per government standards: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and up to 15 years for persons with disabilities.

Selection Process and Service Bond

The selection process will begin with an initial screening and shortlisting of applications based on qualifications and experience.

Depending on the volume of applications received, Bank of Baroda may conduct a written online examination. The exam, if held, will cover Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and domain-specific Professional Knowledge. Shortlisted candidates will then undergo a psychometric assessment, group discussion, and a personal interview.

Candidates selected for regular positions must sign a service bond. Officers in lower grades must serve a minimum of three years or pay up to Rs 2 lakh if they leave early. For higher middle and senior management roles, the bond penalty goes up to Rs 3 lakh. Selected candidates will also serve a mandatory 12-month probation period.

How to Apply and Application Fees?

Candidates can complete their registration on the official website (bankofbaroda.bank.in) under the ‘Careers’ section. Applicants must fill out the form, upload necessary certificates and experience letters, and pay the fee online.

The registration fee is Rs 850 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. SC, ST, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and female applicants are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs 175.

The application window closes on August 26, and candidates are advised to complete their submissions well before the deadline to avoid website congestion.
