CBSE LOC 2026-27 submission opens: register for Class 10, 12 board exams by October 30

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) opened the submission window for the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 Main Examinations 2026-27 today, September 24, 2026. Schools are required to submit student details through the Pariksha Sangam portal by October 30, 2026, to register candidates for the upcoming board exams.

This procedure is mandatory for all students appearing for the board exams for the first time, as the LOC is the official document informing CBSE of selected subjects and candidate status. The board has also indicated that the final CBSE Date Sheet 2027 is expected to be released in October, separately for Class 10 and Class 12.

CBSE LOC Submission Process and Deadlines

The CBSE LOC 2026-27 is the formal process for schools to provide the board with student information for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. This includes details such as selected subjects and whether candidates are regular or private. Schools are solely responsible for completing and submitting the LOC via their login on the Pariksha Sangam portal. Students are advised to verify their information once provided by the school, as a student’s name will not be entered on the admit card if it is not included in the LOC.

The submission window for the Class 12 main exam and Class 10 first exam opened on September 24, 2026. The LOC for the Class 10 second exam will open later, near the second exam in March 2027. The system will close at 11:59:59 PM on the last date for submission or correction, and no changes can be made after the correction period concludes.

Examination Fees and Late Submission Charges

The CBSE LOC fee is collected from students by schools and paid to the board in full at the time of LOC submission. The examination fee for five subjects is Rs 1600 per candidate. For each additional subject, a fee of Rs 320 per subject is applicable. Visually impaired students are exempt from paying the examination fee for both Class 10 and Class 12.

Schools that miss the initial deadlines will incur a late fee. LOC submission with a late fee costs an additional Rs 2000 per candidate. For Class 12 students, a practical examination fee of Rs 160 per practical subject per candidate is also applicable.

Key Changes for Class 10 and Exam Guidelines

CBSE has introduced new rules for Class 10 students, allowing them to appear in two board exams within the same academic year. The first Class 10 exam in February 2027 is mandatory, while a second exam in May 2027 offers an option to improve performance in up to three subjects. Around 50% of questions in the board exams will be competency-focused, case-based, and analytical.

Candidates must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for the admit card. Standard board exam shift timings will operate from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Question papers will be distributed at 10:15 AM, providing a 15-minute reading period. Candidates are required to reach the exam centre between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, as late entry after 10:00 AM is strictly prohibited. Students who did not upload a photo during Class 9 or Class 11 registration can do so before the final LOC submission.

Anticipated Release of CBSE Date Sheet 2027

The final CBSE Date Sheet 2027 for both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations is expected to be released in October 2026. The board schedule will be issued separately for each class. Students are advised to refer to the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, for the final announcement and to download the official date sheet once released.
