CA Foundation, Intermediate January 2027 exam schedule out; apply by November 16

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today, September 24, 2026, released the timetable for the January 2027 Intermediate and Foundation examinations. The schedule, along with details on the application process and examination fees, is available on the official portal, icai.nic.in. These examinations are set to take place across 207 cities in India and three overseas centres.

The release of the schedule aims to inform candidates about the examination dates and the subsequent application window, allowing them to prepare for the upcoming CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations. The ICAI has also specified the duration for each paper and the advance reading time provided to candidates.

January 2027 Ca Examination Schedule

The CA Intermediate examination will be conducted in two groups. Group 1 papers are scheduled for January 2, 4, and 6, 2027, while Group 2 examinations will take place on January 8, 10, and 12, 2027. The Foundation examinations are slated for January 3, 5, 7, and 9, 2027. All Foundation and Intermediate examinations will commence at 2 pm.

Foundation Papers 1 and 2, along with all Intermediate papers, will be three hours long. Foundation Papers 3 and 4 will have a duration of two hours. Candidates will receive 15 minutes of advance reading time, from 1:45 pm to 2 pm, for all papers except Foundation Papers 3 and 4. The ICAI has stated that there will be no change in the examination schedule even if an examination day is declared a public holiday by Central or state governments or local bodies.

Application Process and Deadlines

The application window for the January 2027 CA examinations will open on November 3, 2026. Candidates can submit their forms without a late fee until November 16, 2026. Applications submitted between November 17 and November 19, 2026, will incur a late fee. For Indian and Kathmandu centres, the late fee is Rs 600, while for other overseas centres, it is US $10.

Candidates are required to submit their examination applications online through ICAI’s Self Service Portal (SSP). The ICAI will also provide a window for candidates to make changes to their examination city or medium between November 20 and November 22, 2026. Candidates have the option to answer their papers in either English or Hindi.

Examination Centres and Fees

The January 2027 CA examinations will be conducted across 207 cities in India, including major centres such as Delhi/New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Noida. In addition, three overseas centres have been designated for the examinations: Bahrain, Dubai, and Kathmandu.

The examination fees vary based on the examination level and the centre location. For Indian centres, the Foundation examination fee is Rs 1,500. For the Intermediate examination, a single group or Unit (except Unit 2) costs Rs 1,500, while both groups or Unit 2 cost Rs 2,700. Overseas centres (excluding Kathmandu) have different fee structures, with the Foundation examination or a single Intermediate group costing US $325, and both Intermediate groups costing US $500. At the Kathmandu centre, the fee for the Foundation examination or a single Intermediate group is Rs 2,200, and for both Intermediate groups, it is Rs 3,400.
