- Eligible students can apply for inter-college migration from October 7 to October 9, 2026.
- Migration is permitted only for students in the III Semester, provided results for both I and II Semesters have been declared.
- The extension follows student concerns and a protest regarding difficulties in completing the migration process due to delayed examination results.
- Daulat Ram College has also extended its deadline for inter-college migration applications to 5 p.m. on October 9, 2026.
The University of Delhi (DU) has reopened the inter-college migration window for the academic session 2026-27, providing an additional three-day period for eligible students to apply. The extension was announced on October 7, 2026, and applications will be accepted until October 9, 2026.

This decision by the university follows concerns raised by students regarding difficulties in completing the migration process within the earlier deadline, primarily citing delays in the declaration of examination results for the first and second semesters.
Conditions for Inter-College Migration
According to an official notice from Delhi University, inter-college migration is permitted only for students who are currently in the III Semester. A crucial condition for eligibility is that the results for both the I and II Semesters must have been declared. The extension is subject to the provisions outlined in Ordinance-IV of the Ordinances of the University.
The university’s notice stated, “The date for Inter-College Migration for the academic session 2026–2027 is extended from October 7, 2026, to October 9, 2026, subject to the condition that migration is allowed only in the III Semester, and only when the results of both the I and II Semesters have been declared, in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance-IV of the Ordinances of the University.”
Student Concerns and ABVP Protest
The reopening of the migration window comes after students raised concerns over the previous deadline, attributing their difficulties to delays in examination results. On October 6, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), along with students, staged a protest at the Delhi University Registrar’s Office to highlight these issues.
ABVP’s DUSU representatives had reportedly engaged with the university administration on this matter prior to the protest. Following the extension, ABVP welcomed the decision, describing it as a response to student concerns and their sustained efforts. An ABVP statement noted, “When the matter did not receive the expected response, ABVP workers and students staged a protest at the Registrar’s Office on 6 October and strongly placed the students’ concerns before the university administration.”
Application Details and College-Specific Deadlines
Eligible students seeking inter-college migration must complete their applications within the revised deadline of October 9, 2026. Students are advised to ensure they meet the III Semester and result-related conditions before applying.
Individual colleges have also communicated their deadlines in line with the university’s extension. Daulat Ram College, for instance, has extended its last date for Inter-College Migration for the 2026-2027 academic session to October 9, 2026. Students seeking migration to Daulat Ram College are required to submit their applications and documents to the college by 5 p.m. on October 9, 2026. Migration at Daulat Ram College remains subject to University of Delhi rules and seat availability.
