The Combat Aircraft Systems Development and Integration Centre (CASDIC), a laboratory operating under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has invited applications for a six-month internship programme for 2026. Applications for the programme opened by September 30, 2026.

Students pursuing BE/BTech and MSc programmes are eligible to apply for the 30 available positions. The last date for submitting applications is October 11, 2026, with selected candidates receiving a monthly stipend of ₹5,000.

Eligibility and Academic Requirements

To be eligible for the DRDO CASDIC internship, candidates must be pursuing full-time BE/BTech or MSc programmes at a college or university recognised or approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the University Grants Commission (UGC). Applicants for engineering courses must be in the final year of their BE or BTech programme, while MSc applicants should be in the second year of their course.

Specific academic criteria also apply. BE/BTech candidates are required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 7.5 across all semesters completed so far. MSc applicants must have obtained at least 70 per cent marks in their first year of study. In addition, all applicants must be below 25 years of age at the time of application.

Available Internship Positions

A total of 30 internship positions are available across multiple technical disciplines within CASDIC. The highest number of positions, 13, are allocated for candidates pursuing Computer Science and Information Technology. This is followed by 12 positions for students from Electrical, Electronics and Communication, and Electronics and Telecommunication disciplines. The remaining 5 positions are designated for students specialising in Mechanical Engineering.

The distribution of these positions aims to accommodate a range of technical expertise relevant to the laboratory’s work. Selection for these roles will primarily be based on academic performance in previous semesters, with the possibility of an online interview or interaction as part of the selection process.

Stipend and Internship Duration

The DRDO CASDIC internship programme has a duration of six months. Selected students will receive a stipend of ₹5,000 per month. This stipend is contingent upon fulfilling attendance requirements, specifically completing at least 15 working days at the laboratory during each month.

The stipend will be disbursed in two instalments. The first instalment will be released after three months of the internship, and the second instalment will be provided after the successful completion of the entire six-month programme. This payment structure ensures adherence to the internship’s terms and conditions.
