Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh (AMRU), released the Merit List for MDS 2nd Round Counselling on September 21, 2026. This list, based on NEET PG MDS 2026 scores, covers a total of 126 candidates seeking admission to postgraduate dental courses in the state.

The notice, identified as No. AMRU/(COE)-Admission-121/2026-27(MDS)-5605, was issued by the COE-cum-Member Secretary, Common Centralized and Prospectus Review Committee (MDS Course), AMRU, HP. The counselling process for these seats is conducted in compliance with orders from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, dated March 23, 2012, and May 9, 2017.

Details of the MDS Round 2 Merit List

The released merit list provides full details for each of the 126 candidates. Information includes their Merit number, Application number, NEET Roll number, Candidate name, Admission Quota, Category Reservation, NEET Score, and All India Merit Rank. This allows candidates to verify their standing and eligibility for the subsequent counselling stages.

Among the listed candidates, Hemang Vaidya secured Rank 1 with a NEET Score of 669 and an All India Rank of 469, under the HP Quota – Direct, General category. Following closely, Nandini Sharma achieved Rank 2 with a NEET Score of 659 and an All India Rank of 611, also under the HP Quota – Direct, General category. Candidates under the HP Quota are permitted to fill choices for Management Quota seats in Private Colleges.

Counselling Process and Document Verification

For candidates claiming benefits under any reserved category or quota, AMRU has specified that all submitted certificates and documents must be valid, updated, and in the prescribed format. Failure to comply with these requirements may affect their admission status. Admission to the MDS courses will not be considered without a formal seat allocation through AMRU’s centralized counselling process.

The Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is responsible for conducting online counselling for 50% All India Quota Post-Graduate Medical and Dental seats. AMRU manages the centralized online counselling for postgraduate medical and dental courses specifically within Himachal Pradesh, ensuring adherence to the established guidelines and court directives.

Previous Counselling Rounds and Related Admissions

The release of the 2nd Round MDS merit list follows earlier stages of the counselling process. The provisional merit list for the 1st Round of MDS Counselling 2026-27 was released on August 26, 2026. A deadline for reporting discrepancies for this provisional list was set for 11:00 AM on August 27, 2026, with grievances directed to counselling.amruhp@gmail.com.

The Final State Merit List for Round 1 was scheduled for display on the evening of August 27, 2026. Online Choice Filling & Locking for Round 1 took place from August 29 to August 31, 2026. Provisional Seat Allotment Result for Round 1 was scheduled for September 2, 2026, with the Final Seat Allotment Result for Round 1 released on September 4, 2026. Physical Reporting & Document Verification for Round 1 was conducted from September 5 to September 6, 2026. In a related development, AMRU also released the merit list for MBBS/BDS 2nd round counselling based on NEET UG 2026 scores on September 8, 2026, with choice submission open until September 9, 2026.
