HPBOSE D.El.Ed. counselling 2026: 4th round for 719 seats on October 22

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has announced the fourth round of counselling for admission to the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) programme for the 2026-2028 academic session. This round aims to fill 719 vacant seats in private recognised teacher training institutions across the state.

The counselling is scheduled for October 22, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, at the HPBOSE headquarters in Dharamshala. This follows previous counselling rounds, including a second phase held on September 15-16, 2026, and is an opportunity for aspiring teachers to secure admission based on their performance in the D.El.Ed. Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026.

Counselling Process and Seat Allotment

Admissions will be granted based on candidates’ merit in the D.El.Ed. CET 2026. The HPBOSE has published the merit list, along with category-wise details of vacant reserved seats, on its official website. HPBOSE Chairman Dr Rajesh Sharma stated that seat allotment will depend on both the candidate’s merit and the availability of seats at their preferred institution.

Candidates are required to download and complete a prescribed biodata form from the official website. They must bring this form, along with original educational certificates, a Bonafide Himachali certificate, applicable category certificates, and necessary affidavits, for verification during the counselling session. Incorrect or incomplete documentation may affect candidature. For any clarifications, candidates can contact the board at 01892-242192.

Eligibility Criteria and Required Documentation

Candidates applying under EWS, OBC, and wards of ex-servicemen categories must produce certificates or affidavits in the prescribed format. All seats are reserved for bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh. The selection process is solely based on CET marks, and no interview is conducted. Once a seat is accepted, it is considered final, and no change of institution is permitted.

The age limit for General category candidates is that they must be born between May 31, 1994, and May 31, 2009. A five-year upper-age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC/PHH and Freedom Fighter grandchildren categories, while there is no upper age limit for Ex-servicemen. Minimum qualifying marks for the CET are 50% for General/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PHH, and 35% for sports persons.

Key Dates and Application Timeline

The D.El.Ed. CET 2026 exam was held on May 31, 2026. The online application process for the CET began on April 04, 2026, with the last date to submit applications without a late fee being April 26, 2026. Applications submitted with a late fee of ₹500 were accepted from April 27, 2026, to April 29, 2026. An online correction window was available from April 30, 2026, to May 02, 2026. The results for HPBOSE D.El.Ed. Counselling 2026 were posted on September 15, 2026.

Candidates are advised to check the published merit list and category-wise vacancy details on the official website, http://www.hpbose.org, before attending the counselling session. Identifying preferred institutions in advance is also recommended. Any dispute regarding the CET or counselling falls under the jurisdiction of Dharamshala courts.
