IBPS PO Prelims Result 2026 declared: check your qualifying status by September 30

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) declared the IBPS PO Prelims Result 2026 on September 23, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the Probationary Officer preliminary examination can check their qualifying status on the official website, ibps.in.

This recruitment drive, officially identified as CRP PO/MT-XVI for vacancies of 2027–28, aims to fill 7,675 Probationary Officer posts across 11 participating banks. The result link will remain active until September 30, 2026, requiring candidates to use their Registration Number/Roll Number and Password/Date of Birth to access their results.

IBPS Po Prelims and Mains Examination Structure

The preliminary examination for CRP PO/MT-XVI was conducted on August 22 and 23, 2026, across eight shifts. This exam comprised 100 questions for 100 marks, with a duration of 60 minutes. Marks normalisation using the equipercentile method was applied due to the multiple shifts.

Candidates who qualify in the prelims will proceed to the Mains examination, scheduled for October 4, 2026. The Mains exam consists of 170 objective questions for 200 marks, with an exam duration of 160 minutes, and also includes a descriptive paper with Essay and Comprehension for 25 marks over 30 minutes. A penalty of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer in the Objective Tests, with no penalty for unanswered questions.

Selection Process and Important Dates

The selection process for Probationary Officers involves three stages: a preliminary exam, a main exam, and a personality test. The current result primarily indicates a candidate’s qualifying status for the Mains examination. The individual scorecard, detailing section-wise and overall marks, is expected to be released separately.

The Mains Call Letter is expected to be released on September 23, 2026, with the Mains Admit Card anticipated in the last week of September 2026. The Mains Result is expected by the end of October 2026. The Interview/Personality Test is likely to be held in November–December 2026, with provisional allotment expected in January 2027. The final merit list will be prepared by combining Mains and Interview scores in an 80:20 ratio, leading to provisional allotment to one of the 11 participating banks.
