IISER 2026 Seat Allotment Link Active at iiseradmission.in: Round 1 Results Out, Fee Payment Deadline July 28

The Joint Admissions Committee for the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) has officially activated the Round 1 seat allotment link for the 2026 admissions cycle. Candidates who appeared for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 and registered for the online counselling process can now view their allotment status on the official portal at iiseradmission.in.

This release marks the first official seat distribution for undergraduate science and engineering courses offered across the country. These programs include five-year BS-MS dual degree courses, four-year BS degree programs, and select BTech courses available at the seven premier IISER campuses situated in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati.

Important Timeline and Action Required

According to the official schedule released by the admissions authority, students who have been offered a seat in Round 1 must log into the portal to submit their willingness decision and pay the mandatory Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) on or before July 28, 2026, by 5:00 PM IST.

It is essential for candidates to act before the deadline. If a candidate fails to accept the offer or misses paying the fee within the specified timeframe, the assigned seat will be automatically cancelled. Additionally, such candidates will be disqualified from taking part in subsequent counselling rounds.

Steps to Check the IISER 2026 Round 1 Allotment Result

Candidates can follow these simple steps to check their seat allotment offer letter online:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the official IISER admissions website at iiseradmission.in.

  2. Click on the Portal Link: Look for the “IAT Round 1 Seat Allotment Offer” link on the main homepage.

  3. Log In: Enter your registered User ID / Application Number and Password.

  4. Select Decision Tab: Click on the “Submit Your Preference / Decision” tab in your personal dashboard.

  5. View and Download: View your assigned campus and program details, then download and print the offer letter for future documentation.

Understanding the Options: Freeze, Float, and Reject

Upon accessing their allotment result, candidates must choose one of the following official options regarding their assigned seat:

  • Freeze: Candidates who are fully satisfied with their assigned campus and course can select the “Freeze” option. By paying the Seat Acceptance Fee, their seat is locked, and they will exit future rounds of counselling.

  • Float: Candidates who wish to accept the currently assigned seat but would still like to be considered for a higher-preference campus or branch in upcoming rounds should select “Float” and pay the required fee.

  • Reject: Candidates who do not want to take admission in the allotted campus can choose to reject the offer. However, selecting this option permanently removes the candidate from further 2026 counselling rounds.

Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) Structure

To confirm an allotment offer under either the Freeze or Float choices, candidates must pay the fee through the online portal:

Category Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF)
General / EWS / OBC / OBC-NCL / PwD / KM ₹35,000 (includes ₹10,000 non-refundable administrative processing fee)
SC / ST Candidates ₹17,500 (includes ₹5,000 non-refundable administrative processing fee)

The remaining balance of the fee is adjusted directly against the candidate’s first-semester tuition fee once formal campus registration takes place.

What Should Unallotted Candidates Do Next?

Candidates who were not assigned a seat in Round 1 do not need to worry or re-apply. Their choices will automatically be carried forward into the next selection phase. The IISER Round 2 seat allotment result is scheduled to be declared on August 1, 2026. Admissions across all rounds are awarded strictly based on IAT 2026 merit ranks, category reservation policies, candidate preference order, and real-time seat availability.
