The International Management Institute (IMI) announced an update to its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) curriculum on October 22, 2026. This update, implemented across its Delhi, Kolkata, and Bhubaneswar campuses, also introduced a unified ‘One IMI’ identity for the institution.

The primary objective of the curriculum revision is to enhance the focus on artificial intelligence (AI), environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, and industry engagement. These changes are part of IMI’s ongoing effort to periodically update its PGDM programme to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Curriculum Enhancements and Focus Areas

The updated PGDM curriculum is designed to impart knowledge and skills in the basic and functional areas of management, with a renewed emphasis on developing functional and analytical knowledge. The changes reflect the institution’s commitment to preparing students for contemporary industry demands, particularly in emerging fields such as AI and ESG.

For instance, IMI Bhubaneswar now offers an Online PGDM Program with a Specialization in Data Science & Agentic AI, catering to the growing demand for expertise in these areas. The curriculum updates are intended to ensure that graduates are equipped with relevant skills for the modern professional landscape.

Programme Structure and Offerings

The IMI Bhubaneswar Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is an AICTE-approved two-year online programme. This online offering mirrors the content and academic rigor of IMI’s two-year full-time programme. It is specifically aimed at working professionals who may not have had the opportunity to acquire formal management education, as well as fresh graduates unable to enroll in physical on-campus programmes due to personal reasons. Placement assistance is available for freshers.

The Executive PGDM curriculum at IMI Bhubaneswar includes 16 compulsory courses, 8 elective courses, 3 months of field project work, and 2 international modules. IMI Delhi offers a range of academic programmes, including PGDM, PGDM(B&I), PGDHRM, Executive PGDM, PGDM (WE), and FPM, alongside PGDM (HRM), PGDM (B&FS), 18-Month PGDM, and PGDM (Online) programs.

Admission Process and Benefits

Admission to the PGDM programme is based on profile scoring, qualification, and further evaluation by the Institute. An application is considered complete only when the application fee, along with required documents, is received by IIM Rohtak and all mandatory fields in the application form are completed. Processing charges may apply as per bank rules, and loan facilities are not available for foreign students for the IMI PGDM.

Benefits associated with the IMI PGDM include industry-recognised certifications, IMI Alumni membership, and the opportunity to undertake a real-life Capstone Project. These components are designed to provide practical experience and networking opportunities for students.
