IPU BTech Round 2 Counselling Schedule 2026

To ensure you do not miss any critical deadlines, here are the official dates you need to track:

Event Important Dates & Deadlines
Registration Deadline July 15, 2026 (Until 12:00 PM / Noon)
Choice Filling Window July 15, 2026 (Until 1:00 PM)
Seat Allotment Result By July 16, 2026

Important Note: GGSIPU will not accept applications through any offline mode. All steps—from fee payments to preference locking—must be completed online through the admissions website before the clock strikes the deadline.

Step-by-Step Registration & Choice Filling Process

Navigating the IPU portal can feel overwhelming, but breaking it down into small steps makes it straightforward. Follow this sequence to complete your Round 2 process successfully:

1. Log In / New Registration:
Prerequisite: Valid JEE Main 2026 Details.

Visit ipu.admissions.nic.in. Click on the “Candidate Login” page. If you are a new applicant, enter your basic details and create your profile. Existing candidates can log in directly using their application ID and password.

2. Pay the Counselling Fee:
Non-refundable fee.

Once logged in, navigate to the payment portal. Pay the required counseling participation fee using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. Keep the payment receipt safe for future reference.

3. Upload JEE Main Details:
Crucial for rank verification.

IPU BTech 2026 general engineering admissions are based strictly on JEE Main Paper 1 scores. You must accurately upload your JEE Main application number, scorecard data, and category details.

4. Choice Filling & Priority Selection:

Closing on July 15 at 1:00 PM.

This is the most critical phase. Browse the available engineering branches (such as CSE, IT, ECE, and AI/ML) and associated campuses. Arrange them in strict order of your preference, keeping your top choices at the very peak of the list.

5. Lock and Submit Choices:
Final step before allocation.

Review your college list carefully. Make sure to lock your choices before the deadline. Unlocked choices will be automatically locked by the system based on the last saved data, but it is always safer to double-check and lock them yourself.

Documents Required for Verification

Make sure to keep digital copies of the following documents ready before you begin the registration process:

  • JEE Main 2026 Scorecard and Admit Card

  • Class 10 Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate (for age proof)

  • Class 12 Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate (verifying Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics eligibility)

  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), if applicable

  • Delhi Domicile/Region Certificate (to claim the regional quota seats)

  • Aadhaar Card or a valid government photo ID

What Happens After Round 2 Allotment?

Seats will be allocated strictly based on your JEE Main merit rank, category, and the specific college preferences you fill out. The seat allotment results will be published on July 16, 2026.

Once a seat is assigned to you, you will have to make a partial institutional fee payment to accept the seat.

You will then choose to Freeze your choice (accept the seat and opt out of further upgradation) or Float it (accept the seat but remain eligible for a better choice in subsequent sliding or spot rounds).

  • Missing the fee payment deadline will result in your seat being cancelled and you will lose your claim to it.
  • Stay active on the portal and keep tracking the website for real-time announcements.
