The physical trials across various talent categories are scheduled to kick off on July 16, 2026. According to the university administration, the individual, candidate-wise detailed schedules—complete with exact time slots and reporting dates—will be live on the portal.

If you have applied under the ECA quota, here is a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to know about the upcoming trials, dates, weightage, and guidelines.

DU UG ECA Trials 2026: Key Dates and Complete Timeline

Delhi University offers admission under the ECA supernumerary quota across 14 distinct categories. While 12 categories require in-person physical assessments, candidates applying under the NCC and NSS categories are exempt from physical trials; their scores will be computed based on uploaded certificates.

Following the completion of the trials, DU is expected to upload the calculated ECA marks of the candidates onto the portal around July 25 or 26, post which a grievance window will remain open for two to three days. The official new academic session will commence on July 28, 2026.

Important Trial Rules and Selection Weightage

Securing a seat under the ECA quota does not rely solely on your CUET UG 2026 scores. In fact, your direct performance in the physical trial holds the maximum value.

  • The 75:25 Formula: The final merit list under the ECA category will be calculated by giving 75% weightage to the physical trial score and 25% weightage to the CUET UG score.

  • Seat Adjustments: If a candidate is successfully allocated an ECA seat and accepts it, any regular seat allocated to them via the standard Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) rounds will automatically be cancelled.

Crucial Advisory for Outstation Candidates

Delhi University has issued a targeted advisory for applicants travelling from outside the National Capital Region (NCR).

Important Travel Note: Outstation candidates are strongly advised to secure their travel tickets and arrange accommodation near the specified nodal venues immediately based on the category date range, rather than waiting for individual time-slot allocations. This prevents last-minute reservation issues.

If your finalized travel itinerary genuinely clashes with your allotted trial date, you can email a formal rescheduling request to eca@admission.du.ac.in. The university will accommodate requests based on feasibility within the active category window.

What to Carry to the Trial Center?

Make sure to arrive at your assigned nodal center well ahead of time with the following documents and assets:

  1. Original Certificates: All physical copies of the five best ECA certificates you uploaded during the CSAS registration phase.

  2. Academic Proofs: Your official CUET UG 2026 scorecard and a government-issued photo identity proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, etc.).

  3. Personal Equipment: You must bring your own instruments, costumes, props, stationery, or yoga mats. The university will not allow any borrowing or sharing of items inside the venue.

  4. No AI Policy: For digital media or creative categories, any trace of AI-generated inputs or prohibited electronic filters will result in instant disqualification.

Remember, the university will not send any personal communications, text messages, or emails regarding specific trial updates. Make it a habit to actively monitor the admission.uod.ac.in dashboard daily.
