MYSY Scholarship 2026-27 applications open: apply online by October 30

Applications are currently being accepted for the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY) Scholarship for the 2026-27 academic session, targeting students in Gujarat. The deadline for online applications is October 30, 2026, by 6:00 PM. Following online submission, applicants must complete document verification at a designated help centre by November 05, 2026.

The MYSY Scholarship, initiated in the 2015-16 academic year, is administered by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat, with the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), Ahmedabad, serving as the nodal agency. This merit-cum-means scholarship aims to provide financial assistance for higher education to meritorious students from economically weaker sections, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic pursuits.

Application Process and Key Dates

The application process for the MYSY Scholarship 2026-27 is entirely online, accessible through the official website, mysy.gujarat.gov.in. Student login now exclusively uses an OTP system, discontinuing password-based access. After submitting the online application, students are required to visit a help centre for physical document verification within seven days of locking their application.

The online link for Medical and AYUSH courses, as well as fresh applications for D2D, CBSE Board, and NIOS students for the 2026-27 session, is yet to be activated and will open at a later date. If the state admission committee extends its admission rounds, the application deadline will be extended by 15 days after the final round concludes.

Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents

To be eligible for the MYSY Scholarship, a student’s annual family income must not exceed INR 6,00,000. For fresh students applying to Diploma first year, a minimum of 80 percentile in the Class 10 board exam is required. For Degree first year, fresh students need 80 percentile or above in the Class 12 exam (Science or General stream). D2D students must have 65% or more in their diploma exam and be admitted to the first or second year of a degree course. Admission to MBBS courses must be based on NEET scores.

Renewal students must have achieved at least 50% marks in the academic year for which the scholarship was last received, along with a minimum of 75% attendance in that year. Income certificates issued in 2023-24 expired on March 31, 2026, necessitating a fresh certificate for the current session. Income certificates are valid for three years, including the year of issue, but a certificate made after March 31, 2027, will not be accepted for this session. Students admitted on an NRI seat are not eligible, and those on a TFW seat do not receive tuition fee support. Hostel assistance ceases if the home taluka and college taluka are the same.

Scholarship Amounts and Assistance

The MYSY Scholarship provides varying levels of financial assistance depending on the course of study. The maximum grant for medical courses, including MBBS and BDS, is up to INR 2,00,000 per annum or 50% of the fees, whichever is less. For engineering and other professional programs like Pharmacy and Architecture, the maximum grant is up to INR 50,000 per annum or 50% of the fees. Diploma courses are eligible for a maximum grant of up to INR 25,000 per annum or 50% of the fees.

On top of tuition fee support, hostel assistance of INR 1,200 per month is provided for a maximum of 10 months to students residing outside their native taluka. A one-time book and equipment grant is also available: INR 10,000 for Medical and AYUSH courses, INR 5,000 for Engineering and Professional courses, and INR 3,000 for Diploma courses. Payments are made via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
