• Reduced Question Count: The total number of questions has been reduced from 200 to 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

• Time-Locked Sections: The exam duration is 3.5 hours (210 minutes), split into 5 mandatory sections. Each section contains 36 questions and is allotted 42 minutes. Once a section’s 42-minute timer expires, it locks permanently, preventing candidates from returning to previous sections.

A record 2,73,183 candidates are competing for 86,360 postgraduate medical seats (MD, MS, DNB, and Diploma courses) across India. Government institutes account for approximately 42,936 seats (49.7%), while private and deemed medical institutions hold 43,424 seats (50.3%).
