Eligibility Criteria and Seat Allotment Process
For qualification in PPMET-2026, General category candidates were required to achieve a 40th percentile. SC/ST/OBC category candidates needed a 30th percentile, while General-PwD candidates required a 35th percentile. SC/ST/OBC-PwD category candidates also needed a 30th percentile to qualify. Other-state candidates were considered for seat allotment after eligible Punjab candidates, as per the established rules.
BFUHS advised candidates not to limit their choices solely to colleges or seats appearing vacant in the initial vacancy position. The university stated, “Additional vacancies may arise during the counselling process because of seat upgradation, shifting, surrender of seats and conversion of eligible reserved or NRI seats into Open Merit seats wherever permitted.” This guidance aimed to encourage candidates to prepare a complete preference list. Seat allotment is ultimately based on a candidate’s merit, choices/preferences, seat availability, reservation policy, and government/university rules. Candidates who received a seat in Round 4 were required to complete all admission formalities, including joining the allotted college, document checking, eligibility verification, medical checkup, and fee payment, within the notified period to secure their admission.
