SAMS Odisha +2 First Merit List 2026 Released Today at samsodisha.gov.in: Check Direct Links, Download Process & More

The Department of School and Mass Education, Odisha, has released the SAMS Odisha +2 First Merit List 2026 today, July 8, 2026  at 11:45 am, on the official SAMS Odisha portal, samsodisha.gov.in. The SAMS +2 admission merit list will help candidates check their selection status by logging into their accounts on the Higher Secondary School portal, hss.samsodisha.gov.in. Candidates whose name appear can either choose the allotted school. Or students can also avail the SAMS Odisha slide-up request option to lock in their current seat while trying for a higher-preference school in the next round.

Admissions for candidates selected in the first merit list are scheduled from July 9 to July 15, 2026. Alongside the +2 first merit list, the SAMS Odisha +3 Degree e-Admission 2026–27 process is also underway. The +3 Round 1 Allotment was published on June 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The admission process covers government, aided, and unaided Higher Secondary schools across Odisha. More than 1.5 lakh +2 seats may remain vacant after this first phase of admissions.

What Happens After SAMS +2 First Merit List

Candidates whose names appear in the SAMS +2 First Merit List 2026 need to complete the following steps to secure their admission:

  • Download the Intimation Letter by logging into the SAMS student portal.
  • Visit the allotted Higher Secondary School within the scheduled admission period.
  • Carry all original documents along with photocopies for verification.
  • Pay the prescribed admission fee.
  • Complete document verification and confirm the admission before the deadline.

Students selected in the first merit list can complete admissions from July 9 to July 15, 2026, as per the official schedule.

SAMS Odisha Slide-up Request Explained

Candidates who have received a seat but wish to be considered for a higher preference institution can submit a use the SAMS Odisha slide-up request. 

Under the slide-up option:

  • Students temporarily accept the allotted seat.
  • They remain eligible for consideration in the next merit list.
  • If a higher-preference college becomes available, their admission is upgraded automatically.
  • If no upgrade is available, their originally allotted seat remains secure.

The slide-up request window will remain open from July 10 to July 16, 2026.

What Happens If You Miss the Admission Deadline?

Candidates allotted seats in the first merit list who fail to report, complete document verification, or pay the admission fee within the stipulated period may lose their allotted seat. The vacant seat is then considered for allocation in subsequent merit lists according to the admission rules.

What If Your Name Is Not in the First Merit List?

Students who are not allotted a seat in the first round should not panic. Their Common Application Form (CAF) remains active for subsequent rounds. They should regularly check the SAMS portal for updates and wait for the publication of the Second Selection Merit List.

Seat allotments in the second round are prepared based on vacant seats after the completion of first-round admissions.

When Will the SAMS +2 Second Merit List Be Released?

According to the official admission schedule, the SAMS Odisha +2 Second Merit List 2026 will be released on July 23, 2026.

Candidates selected in the second round will receive a fresh admission schedule and will have to complete document verification and fee payment within the notified dates.
