SSC CHTE 2026 Paper-I answer key out: raise objections by 24 September

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the tentative answer keys and candidate response sheets for Paper-I of the Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2026, on September 21, 2026. This release allows candidates to review their performance, calculate expected scores, and challenge any discrepancies in the provisional answer key.

Candidates can access these documents and submit objections through the official portal, ssc.gov.in, by logging in with their registration number and password. The computer-based Paper-I examination was held on September 08, 2026, and September 13, 2026.

Objection Window and Fee Structure

The online module for challenging the tentative answer keys became active on September 21, 2026, at 11:00 PM. Candidates have until September 24, 2026, at 11:00 PM to submit their representations. A processing fee of Rs 50 is required for each question challenged. This fee marks a reduction from the earlier structure of Rs 100 per question.

The Commission has clarified that while question and option sequences were randomized during the actual test, they are presented uniformly for a specific shift in the challenge portal. Candidates are advised to adhere to the challenge management guidelines issued on April 10, 2026.

Examination Structure and Vacancies

Paper-I of the Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2026, is an objective computer-based examination comprising 200 questions. It is divided into two sections: General Hindi and General English, each carrying 100 marks. The total duration for Paper-I is two hours, with one mark awarded for every correct response and a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

The examination includes various posts such as Junior Hindi Translator (JHT), Junior Translation Officer (JTO), Junior Translator (JT), Senior Hindi Translator (SHT), and Senior Translator (ST). The Staff Selection Commission has announced 84 tentative total vacancies for the SSC CHTE 2026 recruitment. However, one source indicates 303 tentative vacancies for Junior Translator, Junior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator posts.

Next Steps for Candidates

Candidates who qualify Paper-I will proceed to the descriptive Paper-II stage. You can’t ignore for all candidates to download and print their respective response sheets before September 24, 2026, at 11:00 PM, as the portal link will be deactivated after this deadline. The Staff Selection Commission will not consider individual requests for response sheets or tentative answer keys post-deadline. Saved question papers are strictly for personal use and self-analysis.
