TG LAWCET 2027: Apply from February; exam in May

For the 5-Year LLB course, candidates must have completed Intermediate or Class 12 (10+2 format) from a recognized state or national board, or be appearing in their Class 12 final year. For the 3-Year LLB course, a candidate must have passed graduation (10+2+3 format) in any stream from a recognized university, or be appearing in their final year.

Minimum marks in the qualifying exam are set at 45% for General Category candidates, 42% for OBC candidates, and 40% for SC/ST Category candidates. The registration fee for TG LAWCET 2027 is ₹900 for OC & BC categories and ₹600 for SC/ST/PH categories, applicable for both 3-year and 5-year LLB courses.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus Overview

The TG LAWCET exam generally assesses candidates on General Knowledge & Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for the Study of Law. The question papers are typically set bilingually in English and Telugu or English and Urdu. Candidates will receive their hall tickets online leading up to the exam and must carry a printed copy along with a valid photo ID to the examination center on the day of the test.

The Telangana Council of Higher Education has updated its exam naming convention to ‘TG’ from ‘TS’, making TG LAWCET the official term. For instance, the TS LAWCET exam for 2026 was held on May 18, 2026, with the notification released on February 8 and registration commencing on February 10 of that year.
