GSEB SSC, HSC exam dates 2027 announced: Class 10 theory exams expected in late February

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) announced the detailed timetable for the Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) examinations for the 2027 academic year. The GSEB SSC datesheet 2027 was made available on the official website, www.gseb.org, on November 8, 2025.

This release provides students with advance information to support their preparation for the upcoming board examinations, which are expected to begin in late February 2027. The board aims to ensure transparency and adequate time for students to plan their study schedules.

Overview of GSEB SSC and HSC Examinations 2027

The GSEB Class 10 (SSC) theory examinations are expected to commence in late February 2027. These examinations are conducted in three mediums of instruction: English, Hindi, and Gujarati, covering subjects such as Social Science, Mathematics, Science, First Language, and Second Language. The total duration for most Class 10 theory papers is 3 hours, with the theory exam carrying 80 marks for most subjects. The question paper typically consists of four sections: Section A for objective questions and Sections B, C, and D for subjective questions.

For Class 12 Science stream papers, the total marks are 100, comprising 50 objective questions worth 50 marks, to be completed in 60 minutes, and descriptive questions to be answered in 2 hours 30 minutes. Students are required to achieve a minimum of 33% or a grade D to qualify in the examinations. Evaluation centres are established across all districts to maintain transparency in the assessment process, with students’ marks assessed based on written examinations, internal assessments, and practical marks.

Key Dates and Examination Procedures

While specific dates for the 2027 examinations are yet to be announced, the GSEB SSC datesheet 2027 was released on November 8, 2025. Supplementary examinations for GSEB SSC are anticipated in June – July 2027. The Gujarat Board plans to announce the results for the 2026 examinations in May 2026.

Admit Cards for the 2027 examinations will be available from schools at least 10 days prior to the commencement of the examinations. Students are required to report to their examination centre at least 30 minutes before the examination begins. The use of electronic gadgets, mobile phones, smartwatches, or any kind of notebook is strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Science stream students are advised to carefully mark their answers while filling the OMR sheet.

Previous Year’s Schedule and Expected Pattern

The 2026 schedule for Class 10 and 12 examinations ran from February 26, 2026, to March 16, 2026. The Class 10 examinations in 2026 were held in the morning session (10:00 AM to 1:15 PM). Class 12 Science, General, Vocational, and Sanskrit stream examinations in 2026 were conducted in the afternoon session, with Science stream exams from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and General, Vocational, and Sanskrit stream exams from 3:00 PM to 6:15 PM.

The 2026 Class 10 examinations began on February 26, 2026, and concluded on March 16, 2026. Class 12 Science stream examinations for 2026 commenced on February 26, 2026, and continued until March 13, 2026. The Class 12 General, Vocational, and Sanskrit streams examinations in 2026 were held from February 26 to March 16, 2026. The online registration deadline for the February 2026 board examinations with a regular fee was December 6, 2025, until 12 AM.
