Changes Introduced in the 2026 Examination Pattern

For the Inter 1st Year (Class 11) public exams in 2026, the APBIE introduced several changes, including revised marks distribution and question paper design. Most subjects in 2026 featured theory papers carrying 85–100 marks, with practicals or internal assessment contributing an additional 15–30 marks. For Biology, Botany was 43 marks and Zoology was 42 marks, with internal assessment weightage at 20 marks per subject. The total score for each stream (MPC, BiPC, CEC, MEC, HEC) in 1st year 2026 was either 500 or 485 marks.

The NCERT syllabus was implemented for 1st year in 2026, and the question paper model changed to include 1-mark and 2-mark questions, with no choice for these question types. Mathematics was revised to a single 100-mark paper, a change from the earlier two papers for 150 marks. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology exams in 2026 were for 85 marks. The answer booklet for major subjects increased from 24 pages to 32 pages, while Biology (Botany & Zoology) had two separate 24-page booklets. Pass marks were also revised for 2026: a minimum of 29 marks out of 85 for First Year, 30 marks out of 85 for Second Year, and combined pass marks of 59. Practical exam pass marks increased from 10.5 to 11 marks. The sixth subject was optional for passing; if passed, a separate memo was issued.

How Students Can Check the Timetable

Students are advised to regularly check the official BIEAP website, bie.ap.gov.in, for the latest updates regarding the Intermediate Public Examinations 2027 timetable. Once released, the timetable will be available for download in PDF format from the notifications section of the website. Students should verify the dates for their respective subjects and save a copy of the final schedule.
