The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu, declared the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Result 2026 and released the final answer key on October 12, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination can access their results and download the answer key through the official website, trb.tn.gov.in.

The declaration follows the review of objections raised against the provisional answer key, which was initially released on July 15, 2026. The examination, conducted in Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) mode, saw 61,386 candidates for Paper I and 1,67,743 candidates for Paper II across 38 districts of Tamil Nadu.

TNTET 2026 Examination Details and Eligibility

The TNTET 2026 examination was conducted for teachers working in government, government-aided, and private schools since September 1, 2025. Paper I, held on July 4, 2026, is for candidates seeking eligibility to teach Classes I to V, relevant to Secondary Grade Teachers and Primary School Headmasters. The examination is an eligibility test with no negative marking. The TNTET certificate, once obtained, has lifetime validity, meaning qualified candidates are not required to reappear for the examination in the future. The provisional answer key was available for objections from July 15 to July 22, 2026.

Qualifying Marks and Certificate Issuance

To qualify for the TNTET 2026, candidates must secure a minimum percentage of marks based on their category. For SC / SCA / ST and Physically Challenged candidates, the passing score is 50% (75 marks).

Qualified candidates are expected to be able to download their eligibility certificates (e-certificates) from the official website within five days of the result declaration. For candidates appearing under the Puducherry government, only examination marks have been released by the board. Official Teacher Eligibility Test certificates for Puducherry candidates will be issued directly by the Puducherry School Education Department.
