UPSC CAPF AC: Download PST/PET admit card; tests Oct 13-16

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on September 30, 2026, released the call letters for the Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Detailed Medical Examination (DME) for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2026. This release is for candidates who successfully qualified the written examination.

The physical-stage tests are scheduled to take place from October 13 to 16, 2026. Candidates shortlisted for this stage are required to download their admit cards from the official recruitment portal of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at recruitment.ssb.gov.in.

CAPF Ac 2026 Recruitment Process and Key Dates

The recruitment drive aims to fill 349 vacancies for the post of Assistant Commandant across five Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs): Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The selection process for these Group A officer positions includes a Written Exam (Paper I & II), PST/PET, Medical Examination, and a final Merit List.

The online application process for the CAPF (ACs) Examination 2026 commenced on February 20, 2026, with the last date for registration and fee payment being March 12, 2026. The written examination was conducted on July 19, 2026, and its results were declared on August 25, 2026. The answer key for the written exam was released on July 22, 2026. The minimum age for candidates was 20 years and the maximum age was 25 years as of August 1, 2026, and a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university was required for eligibility. The application fee for General/OBC candidates was Rs. 200/-, while SC/ST and Female candidates were exempted from paying the fee.

Physical Standards and Efficiency Tests

At the physical stage, candidates are assessed against prescribed physical standards and efficiency requirements. Those who meet the applicable physical standards proceed to the physical efficiency tests. The PET includes events such as running and long jump. Male candidates are also required to take part in the shot put event. The exact requirements and standards vary according to the applicable recruitment rules, and candidates should refer to the official recruitment notification and instructions in their call letters for specific details.

For males, the physical eligibility includes a minimum height of 165 CMS and a chest measurement of 81-86 CMS. Females require a minimum height of 157 CMS. In the PET, males must complete a 100-meter race in 16 seconds and an 800-meter race in 3 minutes 45 seconds. Females must complete a 100-meter race in 18 seconds and an 800-meter race in 4 minutes 45 seconds. Long jump requirements are 3.5 meters for males and 3.0 meters for females, with three chances provided. The shot put event (7.26 Kgs) for males requires a throw of 4.5 meters.

Admit Card Download and Required Documents

To download the physical-stage admit card, candidates must visit recruitment.ssb.gov.in. On the homepage of the SSB recruitment website, they need to locate the admit card section and look for the link related to the CAPFs (ACs) Examination 2026. Required credentials for downloading the admit card include the candidate’s roll number, date of birth, and other specified details. Candidates are advised to download the admit card and take a clear printout for the physical tests.

Candidates must carry several essential documents to the test venue. These include a printed copy of the PST/PET admit card, a government-issued photo ID proof, original educational marksheets and certificates along with self-attested copies, original caste and category certificates (if applicable), NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificates (if applicable), and passport-size coloured photographs. Candidates are advised to rely only on information issued by recruitment authorities and to carefully check the official recruitment notification and the instructions mentioned in their call letters for detailed details regarding their physical tests.
