Andhra Pradesh FA2 class 8 exams begin today; question papers, answer keys to be updated

The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department and AP SCERT commenced the Formative Assessment 2 (FA2) for Class 8 students today, October 5, 2026. The offline examinations are scheduled to continue until October 8, 2026, across Andhra Pradesh. This assessment is designed to evaluate students’ comprehension of topics covered during the assessment period and pinpoint areas requiring further revision ahead of the upcoming AP Class 8 examination.

The FA2 examination is a subject-wise assessment, with question papers and corresponding answer keys to be made available after each respective subject examination. Students are advised to review the question papers post-examination to note down the questions, and later, download the answer keys and solutions once they are released and verified by the authorities.

FA2 Examination Schedule and Structure

The Formative Assessment 2 for Class 8 students is being conducted over four days, from October 5 to October 8, 2026. The examination is split into two sessions daily: a morning session from 09:30 AM to 10:45 AM and an afternoon session from 01:15 PM to 02:30 PM. Each written exam carries a total of 35 marks.

The subjects covered in the FA2 include Telugu, Mathematics, Hindi, General Science, English, Social Studies, and Biological Science. The examination mode is offline, as confirmed by the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department and AP SCERT. The assessment aims to identify students’ learning outcomes, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses in the curriculum.

Availability of Question Papers and Answer Keys

The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has stated that question papers for each subject will be updated following the completion of the respective examinations. Similarly, answer keys and solutions will be made available once the question papers are accessible and verified. This process is intended to provide students with resources to review their performance and understand correct responses.

Students will be able to download the question papers and answer keys by visiting the subject-wise tables provided by the authorities. The procedure involves selecting the required subject, clicking the PDF link, and then proceeding to download the PDF, potentially after logging in or signing up. This mechanism supports students in their preparation for subsequent examinations, including the AP Class 8 exam.

Context of Formative and Summative Assessments

The FA2 examination is part of a broader assessment framework implemented by the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department. These formative assessments are designed to continuously monitor student progress and provide timely feedback. This contrasts with summative assessments like the AP SA2, which is a term-end examination conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Board for students in classes 1 to 10.

The AP SA2 is typically held in April, with its syllabus based on the curriculum prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh State Board. The duration of the AP SA2 varies, usually between two and three hours, and it is a compulsory examination. Students are required to score a minimum of 35% marks in each subject to pass the AP SA2, with results usually declared in April. Previous AP SA2 examinations for grades 6th through 9th were conducted from April 6, 2026, to April 16, 2026, covering a range of subjects including Telugu, Hindi, English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, and Social Studies.
