AP FA2 class 9 exams begin October 5: question paper pattern, marks detailed

Class 9 students in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to appear for their Formative Assessment 2 (FA2) examinations from October 5 to October 8, 2026. These assessments, conducted by the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department, are designed to evaluate students’ understanding of concepts covered during the academic cycle 2026-27, specifically the syllabus taught from July to September.

The FA2 exams, also known as Self Assessment-2 (SAMP-2), are a part of the annual academic evaluation process. The examinations will be held in offline mode, with the written paper carrying a maximum of 35 marks. Previous years’ answer keys and model papers, including for the 2025-26 academic year, are available for various subjects and classes.

AP FA2 Class 9 Exam Pattern and Subjects

The Class 9 FA2 question paper for the 2026-27 academic year will comprise 20 questions across different formats. These include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Very Short Answer Questions (VSAQ), Short Answer Questions (SAQ), and an essay question. The subjects covered in these examinations include Telugu, Mathematics, Hindi, Physical Science, English, Social Studies, and OSSC.

Project work is also an important component contributing to the overall FA2 marks. Students are encouraged to solve at least three previous model papers to prepare for the examination.

Release of Question Papers and Answer Keys

The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department will share subject-wise question papers after the completion of the respective examinations. Following the release of these papers, the corresponding answer keys and solutions will be uploaded. This process allows students to verify their attempted answers and identify areas requiring further focus.

For reference, the AP FA2 Physical Science Answer Key for the 2025-26 academic year is currently available for classes 6 to 10. These exams were conducted by AP SCERT. Model Question Papers for FA2 2026-27 are also available for classes 6th to 10th in both Telugu Medium (TM) and English Medium (EM) for subjects such as Telugu, Maths, Social Studies, Physical Science, English, and Hindi.

Understanding FA2 and CGPA Conversion

Formative Assessment 2 exams are a crucial part of the academic cycle, designed to assess student learning periodically. The syllabus for these exams typically covers material taught from July to September of the academic year. The results from these assessments contribute to the overall academic evaluation of students.
