Andhra University, located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, today, 8 October 2026, released a notification for its Centenary Post Doctoral Fellowships for the year 2026. The university aims to provide research opportunities for early-career scholars through these fellowships. Interested Indian citizens must submit their applications by 24 October 2026.


A total of 10 temporary vacancies have been announced for the Post Doctoral Fellow post as part of the 2026 recruitment drive. The fellowship offers a remuneration of Rs. 80,000 per month along with 16% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
Eligibility and Application Process
To be eligible for the Centenary Post Doctoral Fellowships, applicants must hold a PhD degree obtained as per UGC norms from a recognized university, with first class in all preceding academic levels and a good overall academic record. The PhD must have been completed within the past five years from the last date of application submission. Candidates must be PhD awardees from universities or institutes of national importance other than Andhra University itself. The upper age limit for applicants is 35 years as of the application submission date.
Applicants must not be currently in regular employment. Those who are temporary researchers and are selected for the fellowship will be required to relinquish their current roles on lien. The application process is offline, requiring candidates to submit a bio-data, copies of all relevant certificates, and a brief abstract of their proposed research work. These documents must be sent via email to frondesk@andhrauniversity.edu.in and also submitted through post or courier to the REGISTRAR, ANDHRA UNIVERSITY, Visakhapatnam, AP, 530 003. The deadline for submission is 24 October 2026, 05:00 PM. No application fee has been mentioned in the notification.
Fellowship Details and Selection Procedure
The Centenary Post Doctoral Fellowship is a full-time, non-transferable, and temporary position, tenable only at Andhra University. The initial tenure for the fellowship is one year, with a possibility of extension for one additional year, making a total of two years, based on performance review. Fellows are prohibited from receiving any other fellowship or salary from any government or non-government source during their tenure. Intellectual Property (IP) rights arising from research conducted during the fellowship will be jointly held by Andhra University and the researcher/co-authors. Candidates wishing to discontinue the fellowship must provide two months’ notice and complete all handing-over formalities.
The selection process involves several stages. Initially, applications will be shortlisted based on merits and the research proposal submitted. Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email. The final stage includes an interview and a presentation of the research proposal before a dedicated selection committee. No travel allowance, daily allowance, or other expenses will be reimbursed to candidates attending the interview. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating active industry linkages and proposing research directed towards industry-specific problems. Contingency expenditure will be reimbursed subject to the submission of bills and subsequent approval.
