UP CNET special stray round counselling registration 2026 live: upload letters by 27 September

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, has initiated the Special Stray Round Counselling Registration for admission to B.Sc., Post Basic B.Sc., and M.Sc. Nursing courses across Uttar Pradesh. This round is part of the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 admission cycle, offering an opportunity for candidates to secure seats in reputed nursing programmes.

Candidates participating in this special round are required to upload their resignation letters and college letters. The deadline for CNET-related uploads is 6:00 PM on 24 September 2026, while for CAHET, the deadline is 6:00 PM on 27 September 2026. The counselling process, which is mandatory for admission, involves online registration, document verification, fee payment, choice filling, and seat allotment.

CNET 2026 Examination Details and Eligibility

The CNET 2026 examination, conducted by ABVMU, Lucknow, took place on 6 June 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:20 PM. The exam was an OMR-based offline test, comprising 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed within 140 minutes. There was no negative marking for incorrect answers in the CNET 2026 examination.

Eligibility criteria for CNET 2026 included a minimum age of 17 years as of 31 December 2026, and a maximum age limit of 35 years. General and OBC category candidates were required to have at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in Class 12, while SC/ST candidates needed a minimum of 40% in PCB in Class 12. For admission to government nursing colleges, candidates must possess domicile in Uttar Pradesh. The CNET 2026 syllabus covered Nursing Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, with the exam conducted in both English and Hindi languages.

Counselling Process and Important Dates

The counselling process for CNET 2026 requires candidates to meet minimum percentile cutoffs specific to their category and chosen course to be eligible. The application window for CNET 2026 was open from 28 March 2026, to 20 May 2026, with admit cards released on 30 May 2026. The CNET 2026 exam notification was issued by ABVMU on 28 March 2026. Applications were accepted exclusively online through the official CNET/ABVMU portal, and the application fee varied by category.

Candidates are advised to adhere to the specified deadlines for uploading their documents to ensure participation in the Special Stray Round. The counselling process is designed to support admissions to various nursing courses in Uttar Pradesh based on the CNET 2026 performance.
