AP FA2 class 8 Physical Science model papers for 2026-27 released

Students and teachers in Andhra Pradesh schools can now access model papers and answer keys for the Formative Assessment 2 (FA2) Physical Science exams for the 2026-27 academic year. These resources are intended to support preparation for FA2, Self Assessment 2 (SA-2), CCE FA2, and Physical Science Slip Tests.

The FA2 is a competency-based assessment designed to evaluate student performance across various learning activities, both in and out of the classroom. Previous FA2 exams for other subjects, including Social Studies, Telugu, English, and Mathematics, were conducted between October 5 and October 7, 2026.

FA2 Physical Science Model Papers and Assessment Structure

Model papers for FA2 Physical Science for classes 8, 9, and 10 for the 2026-27 academic year are available on www.gsrmaths.in. Currently, six Physical Science model papers are listed: one for Class 8, two for Class 9, and three for Class 10. The FA2 Physical Science Answer Key Sheet for 2026–27 is also available for classes 6 to 10.

The Formative Assessment 2 is a competency-based assessment totaling 50 marks. For classes 6 to 9, the written test component is a paper-pencil test for 35 marks, with a duration of 1 hour 15 minutes. For classes 8, 9, and 10, Science FA2 includes separate Physical Science and Biological Science papers, which are conducted in different sessions. Despite separate papers, the final result for Science is consolidated as a single subject for these classes. The principles of evaluation for these assessments are based on content from APSCERT Textbooks.

Written Test Pattern and Assessment Tools

The FA2 written test pattern for classes 6 to 9 comprises 20 questions, including Multiple Choice, Short Answer, Long Answer, and Essay-type questions. The distribution of marks for the written test is detailed below:

The FA2 assessment incorporates various tools beyond the written test to evaluate student performance comprehensively. These tools include Children’s Participation and Reflection, Written Work, Project Work, and the Written Test itself, each contributing to the total 50 marks. For Science, Tool 1 (Children’s Participation and Reflection) is specifically based on laboratory task while for FA-II, Tool 3 (Project Work) focuses on information collection.

The Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP) is the organization responsible for the Formative Assessment 2 (FA2) Physical Science Model Question Papers. Their official website is bse.ap.gov.in. The conducting authority for the FA2 exams is AP SCERT, with its official website being scert.ap.gov.in.
