The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has initiated the application process for the Super TET 2026, aiming to recruit 12,405 Assistant Teachers for primary and upper primary schools across Uttar Pradesh. The online application window commenced on September 16, 2026, following the release of Advertisement No. 05/2026 and the Super TET Notification 2026 on September 15, 2026.

Application Process and Key Dates
Candidates interested in applying for the Assistant Teacher posts must first complete a One Time Registration (OTR) process on the official UPESSC website, upessc.up.gov.in. The online application submission and fee payment window will close on October 15, 2026. A correction window for submitted application forms will be available until October 19, 2026, allowing candidates to amend specific details.
The application fee for Assistant Teacher posts is ₹700 for General/OBC categories, ₹500 for SC/ST categories, and ₹300 for Differently Abled (PwD/PH) candidates. For Principal posts, the fee is ₹900 for General/OBC, ₹700 for SC/ST, and ₹400 for Differently Abled candidates. Fees can be paid online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, or UPI.
Vacancy Details and Eligibility Criteria
The 12,405 Assistant Teacher posts include 11,508 Assistant Teacher (Urban) positions under the Basic Education Department and 897 Assistant Teacher (Sambaddh Primary) posts in aided institutions under the Secondary Education Department. Specifically, the 897 posts in aided institutions are distributed as 473 in boys’ schools and 424 in girls’ schools. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the Super TET exam, which is an offline (Pen & Paper) test.
To be eligible, candidates must possess Senior Secondary with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or Graduation with at least 50% marks and D.El.Ed/BTC from a UP Government Institution, or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or a 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BA.Ed/B.Sc.Ed, or Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed in Special Education. Also, candidates must have qualified TET/CTET Paper 2 for teaching Classes 6 to 8. The minimum age for applicants is 21 years, and the maximum is 40 years, with age relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwD categories.
Selection Process and Commission’s Mandate
The selection process for Assistant Teachers will involve a written examination and an assessment of academic performance. The written examination carries a weightage of 60%, while marks from High School, Intermediate, Graduation, and Teacher Training Certificates each contribute 10% to the final selection weightage. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission Act, 2023, which established UPESSC, was notified on August 21, 2023, with its rules published on December 13, 2023. The Act defines ‘Teacher’ to include Principals, Vice-Principals, and Head Teachers.
