The Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board (CGSSB) today, 5 October 2026, released the admit cards for the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination 2026 (LSAT-26). This examination is scheduled to be held on 11 October 2026, for the recruitment of 2,292 Assistant Teacher posts in government schools under the Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh.
The recruitment drive aims to fill vacant Assistant Teacher positions across the state, with 795 posts designated for E-Cadre and 1,497 for T-Cadre. Candidates who are local residents of Chhattisgarh and appear for the examination will have their application fees refunded.
Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination 2026 Details
The Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination 2026 will be conducted offline, utilising OMR sheets for objective (Multiple Choice) questions. The examination will consist of 100 questions, carrying a total of 100 marks, and candidates will be allotted 2 hours to complete the test. A negative marking scheme will be applied, with 1/4 mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
The examination is scheduled for 11 October 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM. It will be held across 16 district headquarters in Chhattisgarh. Candidates are required to bring a printout of their admit card along with a valid photo identification, such as an Aadhaar Card or Driving License, to the examination centre.
Application Process and Eligibility Criteria
The online application process for the CGSSB Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 commenced on 24 July 2026, and concluded on 21 August 2026, at 5 PM. A correction window for application forms was provided from 22 August 2026 to 24 August 2026. Profile registration on the CGSSB portal was a mandatory step for all applicants before filling out the application form.
Applicants were required to have passed Class 12th with a minimum of 45% or 50% marks and possess a D.El.Ed./D.Ed./B.Ed. Or an equivalent teacher training qualification. Also, candidates needed to have passed CG TET/CTET (primary level). The minimum age limit for applicants was 21 years, and the maximum age limit was 35 years as of 1 January 2026, with a 5-year age relaxation for SC, ST, and OBC candidates.
