Bihar NEET UG 2026 stray round registration begins today; apply by October 21

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) initiated the online registration and choice filling process for the stray vacancy round of Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) for MBBS and BDS admissions today, October 19, 2026. This round supports admissions to government and private medical colleges across Bihar.

Eligible candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H., and B.F.Sc. courses can register and fill their choices on the official website, bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. The counselling process covers 85% state quota seats, with the remaining 15% All India Quota counselling handled separately by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Key Dates for Stray Vacancy Round Counselling

The online registration and application-cum-choice filling/editing for the stray vacancy round commenced on October 19, 2026. Candidates have until October 21, 2026, 10 PM, to complete their online registration. The final deadline for choice filling and editing of choices is October 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

Following the registration and choice filling period, the Rank Card publication is scheduled for October 22, 2026. Provisional seat allotment results will be released on October 24, 2026, and candidates can download their provisional seat allotment order between October 24 and October 26, 2026. Document verification and admission for the allotted seats are slated for October 25 to October 26, 2026.

Vacant Seats and Eligibility Criteria

For this stray vacancy round, a total of 26 Government MBBS seats and 223 private MBBS seats are available. In addition, 14 private BDS seats, 18 B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats, and 40 B.F.Sc seats are also vacant. Bihar has 13 government MBBS colleges with 1,645 seats and 12 private medical colleges offering 1,900 MBBS seats in total.

Candidates must have qualified NEET UG 2026, which was held on June 21, 2026, with results released on July 16, 2026. Applicants for state quota seats must also meet Bihar domicile requirements. The counselling process is conducted by BCECEB through the UGMAC process.

Registration Fees and Previous Rounds

The non-refundable registration and counselling fee for General, EWS, BC, and EBC applicants is INR 1200. For SC, ST, and DQ candidates, the fee is INR 600. All candidates applying for private colleges, irrespective of their category, must pay a non-refundable registration and counselling fee of INR 1,200.

Previous rounds of counselling, including Round 1, Round 2, and the Mop-Up Round, have already concluded. Registration and choice filling for the first two rounds began on August 10, 2026. The Round 3 provisional seat allotment result was released on October 14, 2026, with allotment order downloads from October 14 to October 17, 2026. Document verification and admission for Round 3 were scheduled for October 16 to October 17, 2026.
