Bihar UGMAC 2026 round 3 registration begins: apply by October 6

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has initiated Round 3 registration for the Bihar Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) 2026. Aspiring candidates for MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H., and B.F.Sc. courses in government and private colleges across Bihar can register and fill choices on the official website, bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.

The registration window for Round 3 opened on October 3, 2026, and will close on October 6, 2026, at 11:59 PM. This round follows the release of the UGMAC 2026 Round 3 seat matrix, which details 679 available seats.

UGMAC 2026 Round 3 Schedule and Vacancies

The BCECEB has published a detailed schedule for the UGMAC 2026 Round 3 counselling, with the Round 3 notice dated September 30, 2026, and a corrigendum issued on October 2, 2026. Following the registration deadline, the Round 3 rank card is scheduled for release on October 8, 2026. Candidates will have until October 9, 2026, 11:59 PM, to complete choice filling, editing, and locking their preferences.

The provisional Round 3 seat allotment result is slated for October 14, 2026. Successful candidates can download their allotment orders from October 14 to October 17, 2026. Document verification and admission at the allotted institutions are scheduled for October 16 to October 17, 2026. The Round 3 seat matrix indicates a total of 679 vacancies, including 238 for the Unreserved (UR) category and 343 under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota. These vacancies are distributed across various government and private institutions, including new institutions and additional seats as per a letter from the Health Department, Bihar, dated September 10, 2026.

Counselling Fees and Security Deposits

Candidates participating in UGMAC 2026 Round 3 are required to pay a non-refundable counselling fee. For Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Backward Class (BC), and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) candidates, the fee is ₹1,200. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Disabled Quota (DQ) candidates applying for government colleges pay ₹600. All candidates opting for a private college must pay ₹1,200.

Plus the counselling fee, a refundable security deposit is mandated. For government colleges, the deposit is ₹10,000 for UR/EWS candidates and ₹5,000 for SC/ST/BC/EBC candidates. Candidates seeking admission to private medical colleges must pay a security deposit of ₹2,00,000, while those applying to private dental colleges are required to pay ₹50,000. This security deposit is forfeited if a candidate takes a seat in Round 2 or subsequent rounds and fails to report for admission.

Previous Rounds and Eligibility

The UGMAC 2026 counselling process, conducted by BCECEB, fills 85% of state-quota MBBS and BDS seats, along with veterinary and allied courses, in Bihar’s government and private colleges. The counselling is based on NEET UG 2026 performance, reservation rules, and available seats. NEET UG 2026 was initially held on May 3, 2026, with a re-examination on June 21, 2026. The UGMAC Rank Card for Rounds 1 and 2 was published on August 16, 2026.

A single registration for Rounds 1 and 2 took place from August 10 to August 14, 2026. Round 2 online registration and choice filling commenced on September 12, 2026, with the deadline for submission and payment being September 15, 2026. The Round 2 provisional seat allotment result was released on September 22, 2026, and document verification and admission concluded on September 25, 2026. Candidates who participated in Round 1 or Round 2 and intended to resign or withdraw from their earlier seats had a separate window between October 1 and October 2, 2026. Unlike Round 1, which offered a free-exit option, taking a seat from Round 2 onwards and failing to report results in the forfeiture of the security deposit.

Candidates interested in Round 3 must complete their registration and application cum choice filling on the official BCECEB portal by October 6, 2026.
