CDAC recruitment 2026 application window open for 951 contractual posts; apply by October 26

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a Scientific Society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, initiated its recruitment drive for various contractual positions on October 5, 2026. The application window for these roles, which include Project Associate, Project Engineer, and Project Manager, is open until October 26, 2026.

A total of 951 vacancies have been announced for project-based contractual positions across 11 C-DAC centres nationwide. These positions are initially for 1 to 3 years, with potential extensions based on performance and project duration.

Overview of Vacancies and Application Process

The current recruitment cycle, released on October 5, 2026, on the official website careers.cdac.in/cdac.in, seeks to fill 951 contractual posts. These roles are spread across C-DAC centres in Bengaluru, Noida, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Guwahati/CINE (North East), Mumbai, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Mohali, and Delhi.

The application process is entirely online and requires candidates to log in with a mobile number and OTP, complete the application form, upload a scanned image (JPG, max 400 KB) and CV (PDF, max 500 KB), and submit. Applicants should note the system-generated application number and print the form for future reference. There is no application fee for any candidate or position.

Eligibility Criteria and Selection Procedure

Candidates must be citizens of India. The age limit for applicants ranges from 30 to 56 years, depending on the specific post. All candidates are required to have qualified from an AICTE/UGC-approved college/institute or a recognized university. Educational qualifications vary by position and include degrees such as BE, BTech, ME/MTech, PhD, as well as SCVT/ITI Certificates, CA/LLM/CS/CMA, MBA/PG, and LLB. Final year students are eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum required marks before joining.

C-DAC internal candidates must have completed at least two years of service within C-DAC to be eligible for the notified positions. The selection process comprises three stages: an initial screening of applications, a written test (if applicable for the specific role), and a personal interview. If applying for more than one position, a separate application must be submitted for each post.

Centre-Wise Vacancies and Salary Structure

The 951 vacancies are distributed across C-DAC’s 11 centres, with Bengaluru having the highest number of openings at 272, followed by Noida with 211, and Pune with 162. These positions are intended to fill requirements in areas such as software development, electronics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, embedded systems, electronics design, and project support.

The consolidated salary for these contractual positions varies based on the role. For instance, Project Associates can expect a salary range of Rs.8,750 to Rs.35,000, while Project Engineers are offered Rs.39,100 to Rs.50,000. Senior Project Engineers can earn between Rs.60,000 and Rs.75,000, and Project Managers between Rs.64,000 and Rs.1,60,000.

C-DAC has conducted multiple recruitment drives throughout 2026. A recruitment cycle for 805 posts, including Project Engineer, Project Associate, and Project Technician, was open from February 2, 2026, with a deadline of February 20, 2026. Another cycle for 951 vacancies had an application period from June 1, 2026, to June 20, 2026. More recently, C-DAC Guwahati had a recruitment for Consultant (IT and Network Engineer) with a last date to apply of September 28, 2026, for one vacancy, and another for Project Engineers and Project Associates with a deadline of February 20, 2026, for 27 vacancies.
