CENTAC Puducherry NEET counselling 2026 round 3 registration underway for MBBS, BDS

The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), operating under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Puducherry, initiated Round 3 registration for UG NEET-based medical courses on September 24, 2026. This phase allows candidates to register, submit new course preferences, and withdraw seats secured in Round 1 or Round 2 for the academic year 2026-2027.

The online counselling process is designed to support admissions to various undergraduate medical courses, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and B.V.Sc. & A.H., strictly based on NEET UG 2026 All India Ranks. The official CENTAC website, www.centacpuducherry.in, is the designated portal for all application and counselling activities.

Round 3 Registration and Preference Submission

Candidates participating in Round 3 must complete their registration and submit fresh course preferences online. Any preferences submitted in previous rounds are considered null and void. The process also allows for the withdrawal of seats that were admitted in Round 1 or Round 2.

CENTAC has published updated vacancy and admitted lists relevant to the ongoing counselling. A revised list of vacancies for BDS – Government Quota in Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences was published on September 24, 2026, alongside a revised admitted list for the same. Earlier, on September 22, 2026, the list of vacancies in UG NEET – MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BVSC&AH (National SS & NRI) courses after Round 2 and the UG NEET admitted list for the second round (2026-2027) were also made public.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

To be eligible for admission, candidates must be Indian Nationals or French Nationals residing in the U.T. Of Puducherry under the ‘Treaty of Cession’. NRIs and OCIs (granted before March 4, 2021) are eligible for certain categories, while those granted OCI after this date are eligible for NRI seats only. Applicants must have qualified NEET UG 2026 with specific minimum percentiles: 50th for Unreserved (UR), 40th for OBC/SC/ST, and 45th for UR-PwD. In addition, candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, securing a minimum of 50% for General category and 40% for Reserved Categories. The age requirement mandates candidates to be 17 years old by December 31, 2026.

The application process requires candidates to register using a valid mobile number and email ID, log in to fill in personal, academic, and NEET exam details, choose their quota and category, and upload necessary documents. The counselling fee must be paid online. Management and NRI quota seats are open to students nationwide or abroad, provided they meet the NEET qualification criteria.

Fee Structure and Forfeiture Rules

The registration fees for Round 2 and Round 3 vary by quota category. For Government Quota, the fee is INR 10,000 for GE/EWS/OBC/MBC/BCM/BT categories and INR 5,000 for EBC/SC/ST/GSS categories. For Management & NRI quotas, the fee is INR 2,00,000. These fees are forfeited if a candidate is allotted a seat and fails to join or resigns after a specified deadline. Failure to join in the Stray Round results in the forfeiture of the full tuition fee and debarment from the NEET exam for the subsequent year.

Information regarding fee structures for various institutions has been periodically updated. On September 15, 2026, SVDC announced reduced BDS fees for the academic year 2026-2027. Similarly, MINDS announced reduced BDS & MDS fees on September 3, 2026. Fee structures for Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College & Research Institute, RIVER – B.V.Sc.&A.H. – Veterinary, and RGAMC – BAMS were also published in early September 2026.

Previous Rounds and Key Dates

The counselling process for the 2026-2027 academic year has seen several updates and extensions in previous rounds. The last date for Round 2 admission to UG NEET courses was extended on September 18, 2026. The Round 2 provisional allotment list for UG NEET-based courses was noticed on September 13, 2026, following the draft allotment list on September 12, 2026. Earlier, Round 2 registration, submission of course preferences, and resignation of Round 1 admitted seats for UG NEET-based medical courses were noticed on September 8, 2026.

The first round of admissions saw the publication of the UG NEET admitted list on September 8, 2026, and the Round 1 provisional allotment list on September 3, 2026. The final merit list for UG NEET courses for the academic year 2026-2027 was noticed on September 1, 2026. The NEET UG 2026 registration closed on August 14, 2026.
